Super good location. For major tourist attractions, it is enough within 20 minutes walk. Many nice cafes around.

The room was super comfortable and while the breakfast wasn't in place but on a near cafe, the cafe was super cool and the breakfast was a nice complement.

Let's be honest, Malasana is a dirty and almost derelict barrio of Madrid, nestled between the uber-cool Justicia and slightly more upper end of the market, Arguelles/Moncloa. That's not saying the bars, bakeries in the area are not good. I found a great one 'Padron' and a good Irish pub. This hostal is based on a 2nd floor (without escalator). Receptionists either speak a small spattering of English or none at all. My single room was OK (backing into a courtyard, aircon worked) apart from the towels which are almost threadbare and certainly from the 20th century. Not that I stay in these types of places normally (this was certainly a one-off) to me it seems as if at €40 a night for single room is about right. Pay more at your risk.

Sin ascensor, ni servicio de comida, ni lavandería. Los colchones un poco blandos para mi gusto. La estancia muy limpia y en recepción buen trato.

Horrendous stay! Second Floor Accommodation to the reception. We were locked out several times, room was bare, doors were jammed, bedside lights didn't work, no mirrors/iron or safe. Rather stay in a budget place.

Première impression un peu négative vu la petite ruelle où se situe l’hotel. Mais finalement, la rue est plutôt sûre et dépourvue de plusieurs bars, restaurants,... (attention dormir la fenêtre fermée sinon vous serez réveillé par les personnes sortant des bars au milieu de la nuit). La chambre était propre et accueillante (quelques finissions à revoir). Le personnel était très à l´écoute et serviable. L’hôtel est bien situé vu que la Plaza d’Espana et la Gran Via sont accessible à pieds. Le métro est à 5min à pied également.

Nice room with WiFi and 24 hour service. Room could be a bit bigger. But anyway good.

I like this hostel as it was spacious compare to other hostels I have stayed in. Balcony was an added extra. Room is clean and it has been newly refurbished with a decent bathroom, sound-proofed windows and shutter although it cannot completely shut off the people noise from the street at night. WIFI signal was weak. Air-con cannot be controlled in the room. Hostel management normally turns it off during the day and only turns it on at night on request. Beds and pillows were comfortable enough, however, only old blankets were used. Check-in is to walk up 2 flights of stairs. Metro station is just around the corner and the city center is about 5 -10 mins walk. Restaurant, supermarket and bars are nearby. Rates can vary on different dates, so best to check carefully before deciding. I would stay there again if the rate is below €40 per night.
