it is a good place to spend some days at Madrid, very near of centre town, nice room, clean and a good television. Close to bars and night party zone of Malasaña, but in a street where no noises. Perfect price, a wonderful place to go.

The hostal was clean and the staff friendly, although they could not speak much English. It is a bit further from the city centre than I expected. I would prefer to stay closer to Sol station next time I visit Madrid.

My wife and I arrived late on the Wednesday evening, but they were ready for us. We went directly from the airport, with the metro, to the hotel. Inexpensive and quick. The room was small, but big enough for two. Everything was clean and new. The shower was excellent and there was no noise despite being in a central area. It was only the following morning when we opened the shades to discover blue skies and a huge array of light which showed up Madrid at its best. Late November, but like a spring day in countries far to the North! There was a whole range of small cafes, where for as little as 2€ 20 you could get churros con chocolate for breakfast. However, we were literally five minutes walking from the city's main thoroughfare "Gran Vía". Puerta del Sol, Parque de Retiro were all within easy reach from the hotel. So I guess I am saying you should factor in the location when you consider this venue. I speak Spanish so it helps, but the reception were kind and considerate. We got an early morning wake up call and loads of good practical advice form them too. I would recommend this place without any hesitation.

I've been in the lowest price room and the highest price room and all I can say is that the lowest price has too low quality when compared with the highest quality room. My advice, stay in the best room you can get.

The room is small but its all I needed - with a bed, closet and bathroom. The shower has hot water that took a while to get hot but good water pressure. The massive pain was the hotel switches off the air conditioner every morning at 7am - waking me up from my sleep. This is with 35 degrees temperature outside! So you can imagine how quickly the room gets hot. Despite many attempts to inform reception NOT to switch off the AC, they do it anyway. There's no phone in the room to call reception so you have to get out of bed, go upstairs, and tell them to switch the damn thing on! The AC switch in the rooms can only be controlled by the reception. So here I am, woken up by the AC switch off for the 6th time this week! And when I come back from a day out in the sun, I have to stand the heat till they graciously switch on the AC after dark (after 10pm). Its ridiculous considering the hotel booking says - room comes with air conditioning. Otherwise, the hotel is a walking distance from main attractions and a metro station but this AC business will make me never come here again.

Stayed here three time and it is a good budget option. The receptionist said that we hadn't been charged due to a credit card problem despite the hotels.com voucher saying we had. We said it was up to him to prove and he said he'd discuss with his manager. When we came to check out there was no problem.

The best 1 star hotel I ever stayed. I loved to have a flat screen and my own bathroom , never expected it for the price.

If you want someplace very cheap and convenient, this is a good choice. I stayed in a single room with bathroom.
