Beautiful setting, gardens and location. Pool very nice but needs a paint & was missing a ladder in the main part to get yourself out..? not sure why. Clean and tidy, fales very comfortable, gardens and planting lovely but some things a little bit random, like the pots etc and lacked a bit of style direction. The lobby had big high tables next to the low couches, big strange. good price. the breakfast offered could be to a much better standard. Nicer presentation of food, the table was not laid out very well, it just was'nt fit for purpose and the crockery/cutlery needs updating, selection was a big average, but you pay for what you get I suppose. The staff were super friendly and helpful! We ate at other places a lot but the couple of times we got bar food it was super super yummy so good job team.

"One Night Too Long in Apia"

The lobby is beautifully presented as are the grounds (although they could have turned on the ceiling fans in the lobby). The carpark is pretty rough though. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. My room had both A/C and a ceiling fan but not all rooms had both, I noticed. The room did not have a key which was a bit of a worry, but they said they'd get one from the cleaning staff, but it never appeared. The water pressure in my room was great - no hot water water. Friends next door had no pressure but hot water! I had to send a fried chicken meal back to the kitchen as some pieces of chicken were poorly cooked. They offered to cook it again but did not offer to delete it from the bill. There was a curtain miss from the full-length window beside my bed. Wifi wasn't cheap either. Great pools!

The hotel is in need of some renovation around the pool and dining area and the rooms need proper maintenance work, not just temporary fixes. It is in a peaceful setting, the rooms are good size, the staff are friendly, and the food is good, although breakfast fairly average. If the owners give the place a bit of a facelift then you could say it is a value for money hotel.

Checking in was no problem. The girl at the front desk was very polite and prompt. I was checked in in about 10 minutes. She even walked to our room to turn on our ac. The room was clean. But when we got there, we had no curtains in front. No problem because we had to drop off a family member and asked that they hang them while we were gone. Which they did. We came back and relaxed. The porch has beautiful gardens in the front but make sure you have mosquito repellent if you’re not used to them. The room was very clean. Fully stocked. Huge bathroom but it’s not a complete door so people in the room can hear what’s going on in the bathroom. The tv was not working but someone came out to fix it later in the evening. The pool is nice. But i cut my foot on it. The floor is pretty rough and looks like it needs some tlc. Parts of it were worn down to brown. So if you see brown spots in the pool, it’s not dirty. The breakfast buffet was very limited. Only cereal, fruits, toast, muffins and they ask you how you want your eggs. And then of course coffee and juice. We ordered room service and I went down to order for it to be delivered. They called and told me that one of the items I ordered wasn’t available so instead of refunding us, we had to order stuff to make up the amount of the item not available. When we left the next morning, housekeeping came and cleaned our room, against our wishes which I thought was odd. They charged me for a wet bed and stained pillowcases upon check out

Very nice hotel experience. The Orator looks like it was once a 5 star resort but is a bit dated now - the swimming pool tiles have started to come away and it doesn't quite look like the pictures anymore but it's still very nice, probably a 3.5 - 4 star these days. The staff are friendly and helpful, beds super comfortable and it's nice and close to Apia. Great breakfast :) The only real downside is the shower, it was either boiling hot or cold, nothing in between. Not a big deal as a cold shower is quite nice in Samoa, but would've been nice to have a slightly warm one sometimes.
