"No evening food"

2.0

Arrived late after a long journey. The staff were unhelpful. No food available - unbelievable. We had to travel a further 3 miles and then faced a half-mile walk to nearest restaurant. Avoid this place.

"Great Rural Pub"

10.0

Thank you to Karen and Adrian for making us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The pub has a real friendly atmosphere where locals make you feel part of the community. The accommodation across the yard was very pleasant and spacious. The king size bed was very comfortable. It is not far from St Ives and Penzance but you do need a car.

"A wonderful stay"

10.0

The guest house itself is located at the back of the pub while facing a beautiful country side view. Rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is comfortable. The best part about the experience was definitely the hotel staff! Everyone was so friendly and easy to talk to. Instead of given a breakfast menu to choose from, we were told the chef could make anything that we want. Because we have to leave early on the second day, the owner brought us takeaway breakfast to make sure we had something to eat in the morning. She even called us a taxi to ensure we get on coaches on time. The disavantage is that there were no signal or wifi in the inn. You would have to come to the pub for wifi. The inn is located somewhere between St Ive's and penzance. There is only one bus that goes past the hotel, so it may be less suitable for those thinking of traveling around cornwall without a car.

"Lovely Pub.."

10.0

Lovely Pub and very dog friendly..Would recommend the Pulled Pork absolutely delicious..Great room which is ideal if you need to come back early, Maybe because of weather as it's separate to the Pub..Very quiet..Only qualm was maybe the Wet Room needs tidying up a bit..Will definitely go there again if we are in those parts again....

"THE ENGINE INN IS FABULOUS"

10.0

This is a country pub with all the trimmings. The owners, Adrian and Karen are the perfect hosts. The room we stayed in was perfect. The walk in shower was brilliant, Perfect for the less mobile traveller. It was spotlessly clean and the food was excellent.Great breakfast as well. Whenever I am back in this area I will definitely stay at The Engine. Full marks all round. It is also dog friendly.

"Trevligt"

10.0

Lite knepigt med vattnet i duschen annars ett jättemysigt rum. Fantastisk utsikt, lantlig omgivning, lätt att ta sig till städerna runt omkring. Livemusik på puben på en del kvällar. Rekommenderas

"Nice spacious room detached from the Inn"

Situated in the country close to St Ives and Penzance. The Inn is lively but accomodation is detached and quiet. Lovely bed. Nice meals.

"Good"

2.0

"Left early as accommodation was so poor. "

2.0

Damp and moldy room, moldy bathroom and broken fittings. Dirty headboard, cobwebs and spiders behind the bed. Asked for a refund and was given a long statement all about the terms and conditions of being paid by your company. My complaining ,leaving early and asking for 2 of my 4 nights money back £164.34 was classed as not payable as it was a "late cancellation" Was offered upstairs accommodation in the same damp building, which we refused. Was told this is what I should expect when staying in a Grade 2 listed building barn conversion.( I owned the same on Dartmoor for 10 years which was converted to the highest standard.)
