"One night stay"

6.0

We were arriving late on Samui and only needed a bed for the night, so only booked a basic room. If we were staying longer we would have booked a superior room, they looked a lot nicer. We moved from the resort because we found it a bit too far (for walking) from the main beach road and centre of Lamai resort.

"a great value"

8.0

I was sick and missed my prepaid reservation and the owner Pete said he would honor it when I came the next day or two. The cheap room wasn't bad but too close to the road so I upgraded to a nicer oom closer to the water for a reasoable price. The staff was nice, the cafe had good food and there was a nice pool on the water with tables to eat out there. Quiet neighborhood with town a walk or easy bike. The Weekender exceeded my expectations.

"Great Place! "

8.0

Stayed here for three nights as a solo traveller and really enjoyed my stay. The bungalows are great with huge comfortable beds and spacious. Everything you need is there, with good food, great cocktails and the pool looking out over the ocean. It's a bit of a walk into the centre of Lamai beach but this wasn't an issue for me. Would recommend!

"Best place we have stayed in Asia"

10.0

My partner and I booked in for 1 night in the backpackers room with a fan. After that we wanted to stay another night, but there were no fan rooms available, so the owner upgraded us to a room with AC for the same price. Obviously not saying that's going to happen for everyone but just an example of the great customer service. The owner is a really relaxed and helpful guy and the hotel offers lots of little extras which really make it great, like free snorkelling masks to use, free pool table, cheap kayaks and a selection of dvds for the rooms too. The pool is small, but the hotel is right on the beach in a little bay which is good for swimming and there is a little reef for snorkelling. It's a little far from the town and taxis on Koh Samui are quite expensive so we hired a scooter from a place up the street, which was great for getting around the island. We have been travelling in Asia for 7 weeks and I think this is the best place we have stayed so far.

"Simplicity at low price "

6.0

Had two nights in the most basic of bungalows here. Not super clean or comfortable, hard bed, flat pillow and deteriorating rooms, the entire bathroom acts as a shower but drains well. It was simple and convenient but I would not stay here again.

"OK Hotel with nice view but long walk from center "

6.0

We had an ok stay at weekender villa resort. On arrival we first noticed we had made a mixup while booking: it turned out there are several hotels in Lamai called Weekender - this one being not the one near the center of Lamai beach but a 15 minute walk away. This was our own fault though and apart from the long walk this was actually a rather comforting hotel - good bungalows, nothing too fancy but perfectly fine for the money. The view from the pool was very nice and it was a good place to enjoy a drink from the hotel-bar.

"Awful place, stay away!"

2.0

Had an awful, uncomfortable stay. Mattress was impossible to sleep on. Had to move hotels after 2 days my back was hurting so bad. And only got a %50 refund of my money I gave them for a night I didnt even stay! Also completely fell through the rotten deck outside of my unit. Wood gave way and my leg fell through and got badly scraped and bruised (I'm not a heavy person). No compensation, no help. I had to find the manager myself, (in his room, not at front desk). Manager simply said "oh...sorry...you wanna move to a different one?" After just unpacking we just said no thanks, assuming maybe we'd get a discount at the end or a complimentary meal. Nope, nothing for falling through the rotted old deck. Manager didn't even seem like he cared. When we left early, and wanted the money back for the nights we didnt stay I was very surprised he would't give the money back. The other thai man sitting at the desk said we could leave "no problem" that morning. Manager still took 1/2 a night from my card for the night we never even stayed there. I said after all I went through scraping up my leg, couldve seriously hurt myself, he said "Oh well, I tried giving you an upgrade'. No, nonchalantly saying "umm do you wanna switch rooms?" is not how you offer an upgrade! Customer service is so bad, manager acts like an angsty teenager. Also there was no beach, water went straight up to the wall.

"Backpackers Guide to Weekender Villa Beach Resort"

8.0

The staff were very friendly and very helpfull! The resort was quiet while there but I think thats due to the season. The food from the on-site resaurant was really very nice! I stayed in bungalow no4 which I think is their standard/basic. It was ok for what I needed. There was a kingsize bed, en suite, fan and air con, tv/dvd player, in-room safe and a mini fridge which was filled with two bottles of water every day. Rooms are made-up and cleaned daily. The resort itself is very clean, it was right on the beach and had its own swimming pool. There is also the facility to hire scooters/cars and arrange transfers to other islands/mainland via the staff their - both of which I did - it was very easy, reasonable and stress free. All-in-all a very pleasent stay! Would I go back? Yes I would!

"Great hotel on the beach! "

10.0

We had a wonderful stay at the weekender villa. But beware- there is another weekender villa in Koh Samui, so you need to make sure you get off at the right one if you're getting public transport. It's a short walk from the centre. Far enough so it's that bit quieter but near enough to be in the centre when you want to be. The rooms were cleaned daily and were in good condition for the money. We ate at the restaurant and that was good too. The hotel looked exactly like the photos on the site (always a bonus!). Lovely to watch the sun set over the sea whilst being sat beside the pool (the pool is not that big so don't expect to swim in it).
