Draumholl Apartments

Great location on high Street. We walked to whale watching easily. Lots of restaurants and couple of supermarkets nearby. Lovely and clean and fitted a family of five . top tip.... enable texting on your phone , its much the easiest way to contact the landlord.

This is the perfect spot for taking in Reykjavik. Within walking distance of the shops and restaurants and very nice rooms. The only improvement I can offer is that blackout curtains would be helpful. Loved our time here!

We were only in Reykjavik for 2 nights - and had little idea where to stay. This is located on a pedestrian friendly shopping strip, so is very convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops. A great neighbourhood. It is an appartment - so there aren't the typical hotel services.... but it was very nice to have a working kitchen & washing machine after many days of travel in Europe. Very clean place with 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch that was quite comfortable. Very warm with in floor heating which I imagine is really nice in the winter!! Owner met us to hand over keys and give us orientation of the place as agreed - very personable gentleman.

The apartment is in a great location, this can not be faulted in any way. The apartment address is 103 not 86-103, this caused some confusion when were arrived as the name of the apartment is not visable from the road outside. Its opposite an expensive supermarket/store, do not buy your food here as its double the price of a larger supermarket 5 minute walk away up the main shopping street. The hotel amenities are excellent and can not be faulted, there is everything that you need, dishwasher, washing machine, great shower and comfortable bed. The apartment is also lovley and warm. However during out stay the balcony door was broken which meant we were unable to get access to the balcony, however the owner assured us that this had only recnetly broken and he was looking to get it fixed asap. The service was great, the owner turned up at the apartment within a few minutes of our arrival, however its best to call/message the owner when you land to advise him of your arrival time at the hotel as he is not based in the building and you need an access code to enter the lobby. I would highly recommend this apartment and if we were to return to Iceland we would look to stay here again.

This is a great place to stay for just about anyone. Firstly, Steindor (the owner) was incredibly responsive and helpful for all my dumb questions. But just about the apartment itself, it could not be more ideally located. It is right next to a major bus station so you can get anywhere in the city with a daily bus pass. Alternatively if you walk out the front door, turn right and walk about 3 minutes, you are right downtown among all the shops and restaurants. A few tips of advice: When you get picked up for tours or arrive from the airport, just tell them to drop you at "Hlemmer Square". It is a big hotel/hostel right next door to the apartment. The entrance to the building is directly across from the Icelandic Phallological Museum (which is kind of lame, just FYI). There is a 10-11 (like a 7-11) right across the street for groceries or you can walk to the BONUS grocery store in about 5 minutes. The kitchen in the apartment is well stocked for cooking and eating there. Pay attention to price when you shop in the grocery store though. The same size and type of product can be $4 all the way up to $20 and sit right next to each other on the shelf. Overall, we would stay here again in a heart beat. There is a hairdryer, washer, drying rack, etc. too in case you want to do laundry there. Plenty of towels and blankets as well. You will enjoy your stay!!

The Draumhall Apartment is in an excellent location, right on the main street. The living room/ kitchen area is spacious and comfortable. We were lucky to park our car right behind the apartment building. The two bedrooms are small but adequate with comfortable mattresses. I would have liked a nightstand with a lamp, although the overhead light was sufficient. The bathroom is large with as very nice shower. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!

We had a little trouble locating apartments. A name-plate on wall would be a great help as even the shop assistants two doors down didn't know where it was, nor could they locate it on the internet. Management very responsive to any queries.
