Draumholl Apartments

Family vacation. Was upgraded to 2 bedroom apartment on our arrival at the same price. Owner very nice and accommodating. Apartment was clean, met all our needs. The location is fabulous, right downtown, can walk to everything!!! Only suggestion I would have is new pillows for the beds.

Excellent place to stay. I had friends in nearby other apartment and 2 different hotels but this place was so nice that it was the 'meet' place. Everyone (my friends of 15) met at this apt and then left for the day's activity. Gated parking was excellent, 3 security doors were a bit overkill but in new place it's good have then not. If you book go one block left to bubbletree pancake for breakfast and 2 block left for grocery. One block right to late night convenient store. No noise from neighbors. 3 - 4 block walk to the happenings of the city. Live music, pubs, restaurant and shopping of all kinds. Beds and comforters were excellent, bathroom was very clean. Kitchen was equipped with full cooking needs. Living room with sofa and wood flooring were cozy. Definitely specious place.. I would compare it to one bedroom suite at a four start hotel. If you are staying for more then 3 nights, book an apt. Saves you $$ on food and drinks.

this apartment was great and ideally situated. we hadnt been to Iceland before and was unsure of what to expect. the location was perfect. everything was straight on the doorstep. its was really clean and warm.in a nut shell.. we loved it and would highly recomend it.

The apartment was very comfortable and nice. Walking distance (about 15 min max) to all the main sights. This was the first time we have stayed in an apartment versus a hotel and there are some pros and cons. I missed having hotel staff to help with information and directions. Also, because our flight arrived late it meant we had to contact the owner when we landed (via email, since I didn't have an international cellular plan) and then had to wait about 10 min outside before someone came to let us in. Having the space of a 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen/dining/living room was nice. Having to take out our own trash in the end was a little inconvenient--and again just a small luxury you don't need to do when you stay in a hotel. The amenties were all nice. Though we didn't use it having laundry in the unit was a nice benefit. Our only complaints were these two things: 1) There was a window in the shower without blinds that limited upper body privacy (for females), though once the steam built up in the window it was less of a concern. 2) Though we turned all the heaters off, the apartment stayed pretty hot. Fortunately it was cool outside and opening the windows helped. we kept wondering though if there was still heat on somewhere, or if we couldn't fully turn it off. Further, a phone in the apartment (maybe only for local numbers?) would have been nice, especially since there is no staff on site to answer questions.

Great apartment location at the end of the Laugavegur strip. Quite, modern, and great view from the 5th floor balcony. The bus from the airport dropped us off at the corner where the 4th Floor Hotel is so it is very convenient. Our host was very helpful in getting us situated after our arrival. If the apt was available for our last night after our trip from Akureyri we would have booked it again.

This was a lovely, clean comfortable apartment only about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of the city. The owner was lovely and very helpful. But you need to know this is a individual apartment so there is no "staff" , only the owner who will meet when you arrive to give you the keys. Due to the fact this wasn't a guesthouse or hotel, the tour buses will not pick you up at the apartment. We made arrangement with a hotel around the corner to have the tour bus pick us up there. If you are looking for an comfortable apartment near the action, then I would recommend It. If you are looking for a full service hotel, then this is not the place to stay.

From the time that I made the reservation, Jonina was very helpful in answering questions about transportation and the surrounding area. The apartment was well-furnished with cookware and a washing machine. We only stayed three nights, so we did not get to make much use of these amenities but it was nice to feel like we were at home.

Just spent nine days in Reykjavik and would highly recommend this lovely apartment. The location was convenient ... close to the bus station and within walking distance of the city center, shops, cafes and good restaurants. The apartment was on the 5th floor (the building has an elevator) and has a balcony.
