Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club

We had a lovely few days at the Slieve Russell. Lovely hotel and our room had a great view at the front of the hotel.

Nice grounds- garden and walk which skirts part of the golf course. Really nice communal areas with comfy and different types of seating areas which would suit groups or if you wanted some quiet alone time. Sanitisers everywhere. On each floor place to top up water bottles - really good idea. Bar area very nice and staff pleasant. Depending on where you are sitting can be cold due to AC overhead. Cocktails a little pricey at E12 especially as most of them have only one spirit. Public toilets very clean. Bed comfy, complimentary water which is excellent. Cleaning staff really helpful. Need to book pool if you are going to use. Strongly recommend booking restaurant meals as well as breakfast times in advance as they get booked up quickly. Meal in Summit restaurant very good - large portions especially the starters so can be shared. Wasn't able for a dessert unfortunately as stuffed with starter and main meal. Staff very pleasant. We had left a gift voucher at reception instead of credit card and there was an issue with payment as it hadn't been registered so that had to be resolved which put a small damper on the evening. Breakfasts adequate - social distancing in place with seating and getting food. Meal in Setanta restaurant - starters pricey. Be very careful with bill as price shown on menu different to that charged on bill. Overcharged for a starter by E1. 45 and a bottle of wine for E1 which is not acceptable. Overall food nice - chicken a bit dry and skin not crispy.

Beautiful hotel, plenty to do, great food (and cocktails!). The whole family really enjoyed our trip there.

We loved it such a friendly hotel.

Stayed for a night to celebrate my Fiancé and I engagement. Room was ready on time and even got a room upgrade as a congratulations. Nice bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting for us. Room was stunning with lovely views over the 18th hole. Food was good and was nice to see the hotel done everything it could to stay and stop Covid making things strange. Will definitely be back. Thanks!

Had a lovely trip here with friends. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. As regards current circumstances it all felt well spaced out and safe in public areas. The hotel was clean and had plenty sanitisation points as well as signs to point people around in a safe direction. It was busy when we were there but it never felt crowded. The outdoors area is well kept and great to wander about. It was a great base to chill out at and just relax. The food was tasty and there were no delays with it. Breakfast was good and despite a minor problem it was still enjoyable. Will be back again!

Everything about the hotel was fabulous, grounds are amazing, food was excellent, staff very friendly, manager was so jolly it was a joy to watch him. Highly recommended
