we celebrated my 60's birthday here. The castle is beautiful and the garden full of blooms. It was mid September, weather was perfect that day. Our breakfast was included, and it was very delicious. What a magical time we had. Thanks to Schloss Matzen.

Castle easy to find with GPS. Adequate parking not far from entrance gate. Unique experience of staying in a real walled castle, large, comfortable room with a modern bathroom. Easy, after hours self check-in.

Lots of steep stairs inside may be a problem for people with mobility issues.

Ein sehr schönes 1000 Jahre altes Schloss als Hotel mit Restaurant umgebaut. Zimmer im Stil der Ritterzeit. Rittersaal noch vorhanden ebenso wie die Bibliothek mit vielen alten Büchern. Sehr schöner Schlosspark und sehr gutes Restaurant.

This was a major highlight of our trip. I wish we would have spent more than one night. They were so accommodating and friendly staff. The tower spa is a must!! We will be talking about this one for years.
