"Great location and very reasonably priced"

6.0

The staff were the best thing about the Nairobi Transit Hotel: really friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially Eunice and Leif who took me shopping for shoes the day after I arrived! There's nothing fancy about the hotel; it's pretty basic, but if you're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful with easy access to the centre of town, I'd definitely recommend it

hotel in a rough part of town, 30 yr old white guy who did not feel comfortable walking around night or day. also hotel only has a limited supply of mosquito nets, so bring your own, no ac in my room, noisy street at night and early morning, food is decent, bar is nothing to write home about

"Great hotel for stopover"

8.0

The hotel is very worthy of every penny, especially the restaurant supplys excellent dinner at reasonably price. The frontdesk staffs are very helping and polite. In general, it is a good choice to save money for those who have stopover and need one night sleep in town.

"Extreme value for money"

10.0

Transit hotel is located 10 minute walk from city center and is very easy to reach also if you are moving with your car. The hotel is practically brand new and so all is running fine (not obvious in Kenya). Rooms on the side of Limuru road are a little bit noisier but cooler. Rooms on the side of the market can be very warm due to the sun exposure. The staff is very friendly and can assist and help you for near everything. Safe covered parking in the basement. An excellent option in the upper midrange class for a fair price.

"Good as a Transit hotel!"

8.0

The only downside ofthis hotel, considering the price and the environment, is the poor conditions of the roads surrounding the hotel.

"A bit better than a backpacker's hostel"

4.0

Used for a quick shower and a break instead of spending 8 hours at Nairobi airport BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAP. It's a real "budget" hotel, but the rooms are clean and secure, and the water was hot in the ensuite shower. Adjacent to the new Thika "Superhighway", and a busy Matatu park I suspect the place might be rather noisy overnight. The Wifi didn't seem to work. The receptionist and housekeeper were pleasant and keen to help. Ate a simple supper in the restaurant - not inspiring, but the beer was lovely and cold!

"Don't use the water"

6.0

Overall a good hotel with wifi and good included breakfast. They lost power one day due to construction on the road and didn't have a backup generator, which was unfortunate (resulted in a dark bathroom without hot water). Otherwise, was good visit. Reminder, never brush your teeth with the water, you will get very sick!

"Overnight Stay"

8.0

I stayed in the Nairobi Transit Hotel for 1 night, twice in the past 2 weeks. I would highly recommend it to those looking for a nice, clean, inexpensive hotel to overnight in, between trips elsewhere. The surrounding neighbourhood isn't great but the hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very friendly. I also found the security at the hotel to be very good. The satellite/cable TV and free in room wi-fi were also highly appreciated.
