Motel Echo Point

all painted a bit black inside, very dark

Good location, helpful staff. Fridge worked, could make tea, beds were suitable for kids. Was cheapish... but I know why now....Photos are a misrepresentation.

Overall needs to be updated. The layout is like the photos, but the decor and room is not like the pictures. Noise from road, but mainly some annoying people that chatted about their luggage at 2am. Could hear it like they were in the room. Main bed not very comfortable, Bathrooms in desperate need of an refurbish. Room screams "update me!"

Have been staying at this Motel over many years but boy, has it deteriorated. The Location near 3 Sisters and walks is still very good.

3 mugs and 3 teaspoons were supplied BUT While there is a microwave in the room, there was No crockery No cutlery No teatowel No freezer compartment in the fridge No shower cap which is needed under the high shower head No hanging space for clothes No comfortable chair to sit on The toilet paper was so thin The list goes on!

Location, location, location!! Such a short walk down to Echo Point to watch sunrise and sunset.

Initially we thought rooms were serviced - as our towels were still wet we wanted dry ones. But reception told us about the laundry room and all was good! Dry towels plus free use of the dryer.

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights, booking 2 rooms during our road trip from Sydney. The location was the biggest advantage, just a short walk to Echo Point and the Three Sisters, allowing us to easily catch both sunset and sunrise there. We opted for this spot over central Katoomba or Leura, appreciating the convenience of parking right outside our rooms. Having two side-by-side rooms provided us with flexibility and space. The rooms were simple with a garden view, making for a quiet stay. However, the bathrooms were functional but dated, with doors that didn't close properly. Reception hours were limited, so keep that in mind for late check-ins or early check-outs. Overall, we felt the premium we paid was for the prime location near the Three Sisters, not for room comfort.

The mattresses were terrible we've stayed in superior rooms and they were great. Very old I think.

Close to everything

The interior rooms were nicely renovated, the bed was very comfortable and there was a tv, small fridge and microwave available. Building is double brick, good insulation.

The doors to the hallway are hollow core and ill fitting. The hallway is tiled, so every sound carries, and the doors don’t keep noise out (and light leaks around the jamb. The windows are original single glazed in aluminium frames. There were spiderwebs in the corners and a bit of mold around the edges. The main lights had 1 bulb not working, and the bathroom did not have adequate ventilation to dry the towels over-night.
