Motel Echo Point

Comfy bed. Good location. Parking. Kettle and microwave. Spare blanket. Big spacious room

Bathroom was dirty. A dirty washcloth was left in the shower. No power point next to bed.

Excellent location, short walk downhill to 3 sisters viewing platform (with the bonus of not having pay parking fees to see the attraction). Free parking was available outside the rooms. Bed was comfortable and Mitsubishi air conditioning unit was good at heating the room to a cozy temperature. Reception staff were very friendly but hours were limited. There is a method to get a code to a lock box to get your key. I didn't use that so I'd suggest reading hotel info if you plan to arrive later than 5pm. Don't forget to hand in your physical key when you leave or there's a $50 fine. It was a very windy the night we stayed and it was noisy in the room, so take some ear plugs with you just in case. It was quite a walk into the center of Katoomba but to avoid parking fees in Katoomba (the town requires you to pay for parking at most locations) you can park for free in town at the sister hotels (can't remember the hotel names - ask at reception for details). We were located on the second floor and had a reasonable slightly obstructed view of the blue mountains park. [I think the hotel promotional photo was our actual room]. Short drive (or walk if you're up to it) to Scenic View and other attractions. There's an interesting (several switchbacks) road to Megalong Valley which is not that far away. Nice tea rooms with good coffee and a huge scone (with cream and jam). Unless you are hungry don't order one scone each as it's easy to share. Cost to stay at Motel Echo Point was reasonable for the location. Overall I enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

No breakfast option. Bathroom had a high standard of fixtures but was a bit small. Fine for a couple of nights though. There was not a lift (elevator) so if you have difficulty with stairs I'd suggest requesting a downstairs room.

WE HAD A GARDEN VIEW ROOM THAT WAS VERY NICE. LOVELY BIRD PICTURES ON THE WALL. CLOSE TO THE 3 SISTERS, DIDN'T HAVE TO DRIVE.

It was very convenient and close to the mountain.

Everything was what I expected.

Nobody at reception when arrived waited 30 mins trying to reach the phone number to get into room -wifi did not work -no shower towels -
