Location to train station was excellent

Pro: Very clean and well-kept rooms and common areas. Friendly, helpful staff who make the stay comfortable. Good breakfast with fresh, tasty options. Convenient location — close to Windermere railway station and bus stand, easy to get around. Situated in an excellent, quiet area with easy access to shops and restaurants.

Con: No elevator — all rooms are reached by stairs. Stairs are very narrow and steep. Difficult for older guests (60+) to carry luggage to upper floors on their own.

Jo was extremely hospitable and took such great care of us. We felt very welcomed and had a lovely stay at her place. We had everything we needed and it was in a great central location!

Wonderful location, welcoming host, great breakfast and a perfect location. Would definitely recommend if you aim to travel around the town by bus. The railway and all bus stops are so close to the stay. Such a strong breakfast makes us energetic for our hiking.

Easy to reach from the railway station. A 30-minute walk to the lake (or take the bus). I got a cosy room in the attic with an impeccably clean, perfectly equipped bathroom. Kettle, tea and ingredients prepared. Jo is the nicest host one can imagine. I forgot about the plug adapter between my continental plug and the British wall socket; she fetched one (and another one for my USB cable). You get an English breakfast at its best. Look at the dining room, and you feel: it is the place you need.

I cannot imagine anything I would have missed here.
