"Made to feel very welcome"

10.0

We booked four rooms at the Rose and Crown as we were attending a family wedding at the Old Kent Barn. We were made to feel very welcome, the rooms were spacious, spotless and very comfortable, as the venue was a 10 minute drive and the ceremony was at 2pm we were allowed in to our rooms early so that we could get changed and freshen up, which was really helpful. Breakfast was from 8.30 -10.00, freshly cooked to order and with plenty of tea, coffee, fruit juice and toast. I have no reservations in recommending the Rose and Crown if you're looking for an overnight stay in the area and particularly if you're attending a function at the Old Kent Barn.

"Overnight stop on a 50 mile walk"

8.0

Warm welcome, comfortable room & good evening meal. On arrival we were offered a continental breakfast in our room as we wished to leave before the allocated breakfast time. This was also advertised in our room information brochure. However when breakfast was delivered it was totally inadequate - when we asked for more we were told this service was no longer available & given a few hot pastries and strawberries at 10pm, which were cold and soggy by the morning. We feel in view of this a refund for the price of breakfast would be in order.

"Nice room, excellent value"

10.0

Spacious room with 2 comfortable twin beds, delicious breakfast included, in beautiful Elham - was perfect for our 2 day trip to Dover and Canterbury. 5 stars for what it is, a basic inn room with excellent service and breakfast. Dinner - not included - was very good as well.

"Very enjoyable stay"

8.0

Great find. Spent two nights at The Rose and Crown with our friends. Bedrooms very spacious and comfortable with tv and teamaking tray. Restaurant served delicious tasty food. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice. The staff were very welcoming especially Julie and the manager Xandra. Slightly disappointed with not having the choice of beers as advertised.

"Comfortable hotel with good food."

10.0

Great country Inn located in a small but beautifully located village. We stayed in December, the welcome was warm and we were delighted to note the welcoming log fires in the bar and restaurant area. Very convenient for those heading for the tunnel who want a peaceful stopover and good freshly cooked food. No one will leave this Inn feeling hungry! Our room was large and well furnished with good quality teas. coffees and juices provided.

"Exceptional"

Nice old pub, close to the Eurotunnel. Enjoyed a nice meal and a good nights sleep. They had a band on the night we stopped, and they weren't bad. Would stay again

"Pub hotel of old world charm in quiet village"

8.0

Very good hotel facilities. Room with en suite excellent and spacious, clean and tidy. Evening dinner was fair, unfortunately the lamb was tough and fatty (very poor), but that might be down to the butcher more than the cooking. Breakfast was excellent.
