"Comfortable B&B."

10.0

Wonderfully relaxing stay in a small town B&B. Traditional English pub with a delicious dinner. Large room, large bathroom, comfortable beds, and wifi worked well. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

"Charming village hotel"

8.0

Only stayed one night. The room was spacious and comfortable. The olde worlde bar and restaurant very good with an excellent breakfast.. Staff friendly and helpful. The only irritant was that the shower head was too high up to reach for me, I am 5ft 3ins, had to push the wire up until the head dropped. Must have been a man that installed it.

"Nice pub in very pretty village"

8.0

Really enjoyed our few days in this nice pub in a very pretty village. Our room was very big overlooking the courtyard area. Big comfy bed and good reliable WiFi. Breakfast menu was different from the normal and the evening meals were good. Nice house wine and beers.

"One night stay"

8.0

Location fabulous - situated in a small village and ideal if you want an early Channel Tunnel crossing. Property is a good traditional pub offering excellent food and drink. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the only problem was with the variable water pressure. Meant the shower was a little difficult. Other than that well satisfied and would return again

"Disappointing after good first impression"

4.0

Most rooms are in an annex running along the main street, so expect to be woken up at 05:30 AM when the lorries start coming through the High Street. Also the bus stop is outside the window, and the drivers like to take a cigarette break leaving the engine running. The windows should have secondary glazing on the inside to cut out street noise, but they are just simple wooden casements. If you like a shower be prepared! Our first night we were the only people staying, but the second night several rooms were in use and then we found that the hopeless plumbing system means that if you try to take a shower it either stops when too may people run water, or scalds you when someone flushes a toilet, or turns stone cold if someone runs the hot next door. You get the picture. The staff are pleasant for a chat but disinterested in sorting out any issues - eg a room change because of the noise was dismissed even though all other rooms were empty at the time. Finally breakfast was was OK when we were alone in the hotel but so disorganised when the were 3 or 4 other parties staying - it took ages to arrive and then the order was wrong, not just for me but for a number of other guests.

A fabulous, friendly, clean, spacious and comfortable place to stay in an area which is both picturesque and has amazing wildflowers/orchids.The breakfast was freshly cooked and had great choices, plus very good for dinner.
