25 pounds extra for dog in room which I thought was steep but I hadnt booked a dog friendly room beforehand so I appreciated them letting me stay at all.

GBThe rooms are round the back of the pub in the car park area. The pub's rear 'sitting out' area is adjacent to the rooms so there were pub customers enjoying their time out, with dogs barking and children riding bikes at 11.30pm at night. With those customers being loud it was not conducive to a good night's rest after a long day.

Breakfast chef didn't know what a boiled egg or egg cup was, but he was lovely and tried hard - a training issue.
The staff made us feel very welcome and breakfast was delicious. Shrivenham is a beautiful village and the Barrington Arms was perfectly located for our stay. Can’t beat it for value for money.
Friendly and welcoming hotel. However the service at dinner was poor as we had to go to the bar to order both courses.
