"If you want to get a truely warm homey experience and not just a hotel this is definitely the place!"

8.0

The area around the house is beautiful with an amazing little waterfall right in the backyard, the dining room has an amazing view of the loch and green mountains. The main host, Christian, is a true lady and gave us a very warm and homey feeling, staying late to speak with us and tell us fascinating stories about her life and help us plan our days.

Our dinner had to be one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The family that run the hotel are lovely. Knowledgeable, and professional with an obvious love for their home and business. The views from dining room are beautiful. The room although not large was very clean and the bed comfortable.

The decor is a little dated.

Lovely family run hotel, we had one of the best meals here in quiet surroundings with an excellent view of the glen and loch lochy. The service was great and felt very welcoming.

"Good location but pricey."

6.0

The bed was comfy and the breakfast was ok. Good location and convenient for Fort William and Glen Nevis. Lovely view across the road of Loch Lochy. The dinner we had there was very very nice and beautifully presented, however, the limited choice of only 2 dishes and what we thought was an exorbitant cost of £54.50 quite steep. I would like to add that the hosts Christian and Ian were charming and very welcomimg. Ian’s local knowledge of the area was extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. I am sorry that this property wasn’t quite to my personal liking.

I know the owners were trying to create an atmosphere of ‘old Scotland’ but I found the decor all a bit dated, busy and musky - not to my personal liking at all. We were in room No.4 and I understood that it was one of their better and larger rooms. The en suite bathroom was tiny, and the ‘hot water’ in the shower was luke warm (we did mention this after the 1st of the 3 nights but there was no improvement). Strangly the water was hot coming out of the tap in the sink…we suspect a problem with the shower thermostat 🤔. We were asked to try and not open the window as the wooden frame was rotting and unstable. Wifi in our room was very limited, but it was better in the main communal areas downstairs though.

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment we walked in we were treated respectfully and smiles. It felt like I walked into my Grandma's comfortable home. The house is full of antiques and comfortable feather furniture. The bed and pillows were so comfortable too. The selection of tea and coffee in our room was nice too. Plus, a lovely selection of cookbooks were there too. There is an on-site bar and a a beautiful dinning room. I had one of the best Gin & Tonics I have ever had. Don't skip dinner at this fine hotel. I had salmon in a mussel sauce - so divine. The best meal I had on our whole two weeks of traveling. Cristian and her son made us feel so very welcome and important. This is a real gem of a hotel.
