The property was in a lovely location. It had a really nice beer garden and had an old fashion pub feel about it.

Nothing really.

Room was clean and functional and given how hot the weather was good to find a fan in the room without having to ask. Peaceful location and plenty of parking available.

Service at the bar and for dinner in the evenings was very slap dash. Food was passed down the table rather than walk round to each guest and place their food in front of them. Food on the first night was actually quite poor. There were also issues with the bar in that all soft drinks on tap were off due to a fault but choice of non tap drinks was limited yet very little apology given. Second night was better but still just passable rather than great considering the prices. Lastly the triple room that we had booked had not been made up as a triple and when I asked the staff were frustrated (by colleagues rather than us as guests) but to the point that we ended up making up the bed ourselves.

This is a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good too.

Great property and lovely rooms

We liked everything but an elderly couple asked for a coffee whilst we were at the bar, it may have been after 9pm, they were told they couldn’t have one which we thought was a little poor. We understood the machine was off but felt they could have switched it back on to make them one. This didn’t impact our stay but we felt bad for the couple.

Dinner was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and efficient.

Lovely old building. We really enjoyed driving around the Lakes District admiring the hills and the valleys and counting the lakes. This property is well situated for long walks and drives. A very nice breakfast included.
