The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the downtown location is perfect.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! Gorgeous inside and spacious. I travel often and around the world,my room was absolutely lovely! They managed to keep the vintage charm, give the building their own twist, and be modern all at once. Any staff I interacted with were professional, kind, and went out of their way to make my stay great! Loved the coffee shop in the morning, delicious, fresh bakery and coffee. I parked in the nearby structure, it was $8 for the night and time before I left the next morning. The hotel is located in a great spot as well, quick walk to many nearby shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend!!

This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel, they were renovating the last time so it was a nice surprise to see all the upgrades during this stay. Check in was a breeze and the staff have all been extremely helpful and friendly. You can’t beat the location, walking distance to plenty of different options for dining. Hotel bar is very nice! Definitely try a cocktail with the “cloud” on top!!!

Downtown, classy, beautifully refurbished . Staff was exceptional, friendly and helpful. Italian restaurant was amazing.

A top notch hotel when planning a stay in downtown Colorado Springs. The MX completed its redecoration in 2024, and still has that well-burnished look. The corner-windows lobby is huge, lined with wood and glass, filled with clusters of chairs and couches of various styles that should clash but instead create an upscale but cozy whole. That large space also provides seating for the BLK MGK coffee shop and the Golden Hour bar, and is the locale for weekly jazz concerts. Our room was on the second floor, near the entrance awning facing east. Despite being on Nevada, we have very few problems with traffic noise; the bigger challenge was the bright light from the building lighting and the dawn; it was tough to get the floor-to-ceiling blackout drapes well-closed. The HVAC worked well, but was quite loud when it would roar into life in during the night. The room (Silver level, King-sized bed) was high-ceilinged and open. The tile floor, rug, wallpaper, were all a variety of prints that, again, should have clashed, but instead were charming. The bed was comfortable. The chair and chase-longue, and even the desk chair were comfortable. Power outlets were plentiful and at a high enough level to be usable. The room came with complementary water bottles each day. No coffee machine (but a nice shop in the lobby). The sink and shower were open to the main sleeping area -- it looked like there may have been a sliding partition that covered that and the closet, but that was missing. Didn't bother my wife and me, and it did add to the feeling of size and openness, but be aware. (The WC was in its own closable niche.) The shower was huge, and the there were enough towel hooks and racks, in the proper places. The bathroom itself was missing any kind of mirror, though the floor length mirror in the hall served to a degree. Matching contemporary trend, there was only one waste can in the entire room (back in the WC), which is annoying. We peeked into the conference / ball room on our floor, just down the hall, and it looked very nice for a private function. The hallways were nicely appointed, with modernistic carpet that, yet again, should have clashed but gave a spirit of eclectic design. An old safe/vault door (!) in the hall let to a store room. All the people we interacted with, from the front desk to valet to housekeeping, as well as at the bar and coffee bar, were friendly and helpful. The biggest complaint you'll see is about parking. Being downtown COS, the options are plentiful but pricey. Valet parking is available, but expensive. There is plenty of metered parking you can make use of in the area. There is also a large parking garage (including charging stations) a block south on Nevada which charged $23 overnight, which seemed a pretty good deal. Depending on what you are doing, there is a lot within walking distance of the MX. The hotel has a spa and gym, though we did not make use of them. Net-net, the MX experience is expensive, but you get high quality and comfortable accommodations for the price. It served as a nice getaway for us for three nights during the week, and if we stay in downtown COS again, it will probably be there.

The Mining Exchange is such a gem. Incredible space, with incredible staff. The place is superb even if it had ok service, but given the excellent service and staff I cannot recommend a hotel in the area better! I’d even recommend staying here if it’s out of the way of your visit, hell I’d even recommend it if you’re a Hilton platinum member like myself! They simply blow everyone out of the water. Shout out to Jose! He’s an incredible worker who went above and beyond at my stay here. Stop by the Oro for dinner while you’re here.

Loved everything about it! It was elegant, comfortable, well appointed, well located, with very friendly staff.

This place is super nice. The lobby has this great sense of sophistication, and that says a lot to me as far as first impressions go. The guy at the front desk, can't remember his name, but he's a redhead dude, he was extremely friendly and helpful with any concerns and questions I had when my wife and I checked in. They even have a phone number you can text questions to, and they'll actually respond within a couple of minutes. This is the first hotel I've stayed at that has that feature. It's way better than calling downstairs or walking downstairs and asking them something. The housekeeping is fantastic. Last year, my wife and I stayed at a hotel in Branson and the housekeeping was trash, honestly. They didn't come by and change the sheets or the towels or anything when we stoped at the front desk and requested it on the way out for the day. But the housekeeping staff at The Mining Exchange is on their game. This morning we left and just asked for the trash to be taken out and for new towels, but we came back and they did the whole suite. Very nice. The location is pretty good. We're from Kansas City so we're not terribly familiar with the place but it wasn't more than a 20 minute or so drive to most places that we wanted to go see. And the downtown area is pretty clean from what I've seen. The hotel offers valet, but we opted to use the city owned parking garage less than a block away. I feel like our stay was worth the price. It's not a big hotel chain, at least as far as I'm aware, but our suite is very nice. I'm a big fan of a nice shower, and this checked that box easily. If there's one thing I would request, it's one of those shower heads on a "hose" that you can remove from the wall. I have a nice one at home and it's incredible. We haven't heard any crazy noises in our room, which is great. I like my peace and quiet. Our suite came with two mini fridges, one in the bedroom and the other in the "living room" area. The TVs are good. I don't care much about watching TV. But it came with a couch and two leather chairs so that was nice. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend this place. Not a cheap big hotel chain, but sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one of those times.
