Thornton Hunt Inn

Great pub and accommodation in a very tucked away village between Grimsby and Hull. Room was lovely and clean and quiet during the night. WiFi was very slow, but it did work and was adequate for emails etc. Meals in the pub are also very good...so good that the locals eat there regular. So don't assume you can eat straight away as all the tables in the bar were reserved in the early evening and I was told that if I wanted food then I would need to wait an hour for a table. Car parking is also very good. I would recommend this place for a quiet getaway.

Comfortable clean room, beautiful old building . Unfortunately they are closed from 3pm - 6pm on a Sunday. We thought it was just reception for accommodation that was closed during these hours & were hoping to enjoy a few beers in the downstairs pub whilst we waited - no such luck. We went to the "Nags Head" pub down the road while we were waiting to check in, friendly staff etc. but were told they only served Sunday carvery in the menu that night (my wife really wanted the Salmon from the menu). The carvery was very tasty & great value for money (7.50 GBP). Checked into Thornton Hunt Inn & was then informed that if we wanted breakfast it would be 8.95 GBP per person - this was a shock as my understanding of the concept of a "B&B" was that breakfast was included. Was then charged almost 9 GBP for 2 pints & was informed that the bar closed at 8.30pm. Needless to say we headed back to the "Nags Head" (which closed at 11pm) & enjoyed a few pints (standard pricing) & chatted with a few friendly locals. The "Thornton Hunt Inn" is a beautiful building & the room was fantastic but it is situated in the middle of nowhere, with expensive beer & breakfast non inclusive. We would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone sorry...

Really lovely

The rooms are very comfortable, well presented and cleaned every day. Breakfast seemed a bit over priced for me, but booking a table for your evening meal is advisable as the homemade pub food menu seems very popular with guests and locals. Service from the staff is excellent. The only point to note is the location of the hotel which is in a small village. Ideal if you're after a quiet escape, however a drive is required to find any shops/takeaways/restaurants away from the hotel

Superb stay. Warm welcome and wonderful service in a traditional cosy pub. Breakfast was first class. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Stayed for my fortnight shift and found it superb value for money. Room was immaculate and bed very comfortable with decent facilities. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was lovely.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. Room was quite small, but fine for a short stay.
