Holiday Inn Express & Suites Gonzales by IHG

I have never pad that much for a room that was a total mess the beds were so bad my husband had to go to the lobby to sit in a chair to try to sleep. We went to New Braunsfel and that place put the hotel in Gonzales to shame and the people were dressed properly and not in hole in their jeans and were really friendly at new braunfels We will not stay in Gonzales agai

Hotel was under renovation, we didn’t know until we arrived. Boxes stacked in driveway, in the front foyer, halls and breakfast area. Room was just ok. Live roach walking across carpet in our room. Killed it. Looked around bed and around nightstand. Trash was in between bed and nightstand, not cleaned up. May not be this way all the time. It was a lot going on. Breakfast was identical every morning but that’s to be expected. Staff was friendly and nice. Elevator sounded like it was going to give out. Worked but sure was noisy. Had some unsavory looking characters there during our 4 day stay. Marijuana smell really strong at times but I guess that goes with the territory anymore. Could have been them or some of the remodelers. Not sure what good it would have done to report it. Probably our last trip to Gonzales but if we ever go back we’ll investigate other options for our accommodations.

The staff downgraded my room I had reserved because I booked thru hotels.com. The front desk person did NOT honor what I had paid. I had booked and paid for the night 20 days prior my stay. I do not recommend anyone staying there. The staff suggested NOT to use hotels.com to book in the future in order so I won't get the room bumped to one bed instead of double beds.

Stay was nice room and hallway had a spicy smell. Room was not cleaned well. Rooms multiple hairs in bathroom.

Not so bad. Hotel is under renovation. No closet or closet rod to hang clothes. The cost should reflect that.

The room was ok , just the couch needs to get replaced because it has one stains but besides it was ok.

Location & Convenience to my meeting,

First time at this hotel and the AC wasn’t working, barely any air coming out. Carpets were dirty and front desk wasn’t there half of the time. Necessity made us book again and they CANCELED our stay without ANY notification. The only way we found out was because we wanted to upgrade our room. We got no apology OR explanation as to why we had our PREPAID stay canceled. Now we are l left last minute to find a hotel during a completely booked up weekend throughout the town.
