Rumi Wasi

Cute little property, up a steep hill which doesn’t help with the high altitude, but you get used to it, day 1 was hard. Close to restaurants and bars, there was always police presence in the street near the bars which helped. Breakfast is basic but cute, has a little communal area.

The property was small and quaint, and Manuel, the manager, has paid great attention to detail. Our rooftop terrace was outstanding and really made our trip to Cusco!

We had a little issues with our room being too light in the morning but we used our eye masks and we were able to sleep just fine.

It’s small and outdated

Manuel was so attentive and amazing to us during our stay! Great location because it is near the main square but still far away enough that we didn’t have trouble with noise. Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Manuel was always a text away when we had questions. Check in and check out were easy and he even arranged airport transfer for us! The breakfast was delicious and the views from the terrace are wonderful!

The property manager was very helpful with scheduling our shuttles and answering every question we had so quickly. The concierge ladies were lovely and the breakfasts in the rooms were so nice. I felt at home.

We arrived, tier and frustrated, our bags were still in Lima, and we had endured 3x flights to get to Cusco from London. Manuel greeted us warmly, gave us some coca leave tea, and signed us in. Were in room 7 a really pleasant room, comfortably furnished, with roof top terrace with stunning views across the rooftops of Cusco and views to the main square. Manuel was (is) a star, helping us resolve our baggage issues, cars to get essentials, to/from the airport to collect our cases (don't ask, #Iberia are not our preferred carrier and never will be!) He communicated at all hours vias WhatsApp which was really very much appreciated. When it was time to leave Rumi Wasi he suggested a tour on the way to Urubamba our next destination, and Ruben the driver/tour guide, turned up. We stopped at Chinchero, Salt mines at Maras, Moray and some Inca market shops, all in all a brilliant tour and thanks to Manuel we did something we would not have otherwise. With regards to the hotel itself, it is a really quant hotel, quiet, interesting architecturally set over several levels around a 'sunken' courtyard. Quiet atmospheric. All ion all would definitely recommend a stay if you're looking for something different in a good way. Manuel gets five starts as does the hotel.

We really loved our stay at Rumi Wasi! I can't imagine a more perfect experience in Cusco for my family and I. Rumi Wasi is situated just a few minutes' walk up a small, quiet street from the main square, Plaza Mayor. We were able to easily walk to everything we did in Cusco. Despite an amazing (!!) and loud street festival on the main square during our stay, the hotel was always very quiet. Rumi Wasi is so beautifully restored and lovingly maintained and staffed by a few incredibly kind women who will welcome you and are happy to help with anything you need. Manuel, the owner/manager was able to help us to arrange all of our local transportation by taxi, to and from the airport, to Pisac for the day, and to Ollantaytambo. Breakfast was fabulous, with fresh juice, eggs, bread, oatmeal, coffee, etc. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cusco, it was such a special part of our trip.
