Victorian by the Sea

We looked forward to our stay at Victorian by the Sea with great anticipation throughout August and early September. The setting and ambience looked wonderful. Several weeks before our trip we were forced to adjust our dates due to medical issues. Caroline, the Innkeeper, could not have been more gracious and cooperative. Finally, as we readies to depart from South Carolina and New York, Hurricane Lee loomed. Once again, delayed flights and potential power outages from downed trees forced us to make adjustments to our plans. Once again, Caroline was the most accommodating host. She informed us of the issues in a timely manner.

My regret is that we were unable to stay at Victorian by the Sea. When there was a brief power outage the night before we were to check in, we quickly made other reservations which were non-refundable. I am so looking forward to a stay in the future.

Beautiful house and decor. Attention to every detail for comfort and serenity. Caroline is a special and gracious host.

This is what I picture when I think of oldschool Bed & Breakfasts. Beautifully decorated inn with a lovely inn-keeper, Caroline, who prepares a wonderful 3-course homemade breakfast. She knows the area very well and has lots of great recommendations. Lots of common space with a fireplace to read at- that was probably my favorite area; very cozy. There is a tea and coffee station. Comfortable bed and so quiet. I stayed in the Bay Room which has historical literary significance. I also appreciated that the Victorian style is very congruent, with beautiful wallpaper. Easy parking, around 10 min drive from Camden. I would return.

This is an old house so be aware that there will be some creepy crawlies (not unexpected) and it takes a while for the water to heat up in the Bay Room. The shower is a little small, not an issue for me, but might be for others.

Fragile shower

I like being welcomed in this beautiful house by a very nice host who cared about my family and wanted to make the weekend unforgettable for us. She booked a restaurant for us and gave us really helpful advice. Breakfasts were delicious. We would love to come back!

Nothing

The property was beyond lovely. Picturesque, quaint and great views of ocean . The room was lovely and I adored the decor and that it had a working fireplace. Caroline, the host, was welcoming, warm and accommodating. She made excellent recommendations for things to do in the area and local restaurants. The breakfasts were delicious, and she offered a lovely assortment of choices from bagels and lox to omelettes with fresh veggies and herbs grown on the property.

There was nothing about the property I disliked.

Quiet enchanted house with cozy interior and nice garden. Lovely host.

Very Tranquil.. No tv’s or radios. Top notch.
