Our normal check in is between 14H00 and 18H00. Please note that we are a Private Lodge and we do not have 24 hours check in service. Our gate is locked on a permanent basis due to the Wildlife on our property, we therefore ask that you please advise on an estimated time of arrival for us to have the gate unlocked upon your arrival. Latest check in is 19H00, between 19H00 and 20H00, there will be a Surcharge of R 250.00.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Die Lodge liegt wunderschön am Blyde River und bietet alles was man braucht. Service, Frühstück und Dinner sind sehr gut.

Der Weg dorthin ist so, dass man nicht mal eben noch einen kurzen Ausflug unternimmt. Es ist jedoch ein Erlebnis zu der Lodge zu gelangen.

Geniale Lage an einem Fluss, umgeben von einem eingezäunten Privatpark mit Giraffen, Zebras, einem Gnu und vielen Pfauen. Sehr schön angelegte Lodge mit Pool. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer.

Die Anfahrt ist etwas "abenteuerlich" über Schotter-/Sandpiste, quer durch von Rodung betroffenen Arealen.

Einfach alles !!! Außergewöhnliche Anfahrt, dass mir persönlich sehr entgegen kommt, da nicht soviel Touristen da sind, und es ist für Abenteuer super !! Leider sind wir nur 1 Nacht da gewesen. Es wäre auch gut für 1 Woche. Falls wir jemals wieder kommen, dann wissen wir wo mir hinwollen. Ihr hat eine Super Lodge !!! Gruß Heiner und Inge Härtl

I never actually made it to Blyde River Wilderness Lodge and that should tell you everything. The property is dangerously remote and the hosts were completely uncontactable. They didn’t respond to messages, send directions, or answer the phone or WhatsApp at any point while I was trying to reach them or since. The only directions I had were from Booking.com, which was a Google Maps link. Following it took me about 12 miles down a dirt track that ended at a private farm. I had to stop and ask a local farmer, who told me I’d have to drive all the way back to town and start again using a different dirt track. By then it would have been dark, so I had no choice but to pay for accommodation elsewhere. This whole experience was stressful, unsafe, and completely avoidable with even basic communication from the hosts. I’m seriously concerned for anyone else trying to find this place. Getting lost here isn’t just inconvenient, it’s dangerous. These are not responsible hosts and they should not be listed on any booking platform.
