Staybridge Suites Amarillo Western Crossing by IHG

Orange juice was80% water, fruit had been frozen Tiles in the bathroom were cracked and several were missing.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! I stayed at this location years ago and remembered it fondly so I booked it for my recent business trip. It must be under new management because things were VERY different this time. They don’t have the food&drink happy hour like they used to and most Staybridge hotels do. The tv and hair dryer didn’t work. Most of the staff was very nice though. The biggest issue was they put an $820 hold on my debit card for my stay. Every day for a week that I was there, they tried to charge my debit card $795 even once charging me $0.01 that I did not authorize. After I checked out I was charged for the room but the pending hold for $820 has still not been released 4 days later. I called them and was told my bank has to do it which is not true. I called IHG corporate and they were worse than useless. They have zero authority over the hotels who bear their name apparently. The hotel has zero respect for IHG corporate because they haven’t bothered to respond to them in over 48 hours. As of this review, I’m still waiting for the hold to be released. I will never stay at an IHG property again. Ever.

Nice helpful staff; clean and comfortable. Too late for the happy hour but looked good. Fitness room had no towels or cups for water but well equipped.

I would have liked fresh towels for the days I was there, had to get fresh ones from the front desk

Great clean hotel and the location was perfect.

Great location. The breakfast is fantastic. Easy to walk to delicious Lemongrass for dinner. Easy to park. But the room is falling apart. I couldn’t open the microwave easily and it wouldn’t even heat up my stuff. The furniture is old and blah. Needs a major update.

Hotel was fine. It had everything we needed for a 1-night stay. However, the sofa pull-out bed didn’t have any linens and it was covered in food when we opened it. When I called downstairs to report it, I was offered a set of linens. When I pressed the lady at the desk, because the there was a ton of left behind food that needed to be cleaned up first, she sighed heavily, like I was a burden that her cleaning people didn’t do their job and told me to come downstairs and she would put me in a different room. The second room was better and it was not dirty and the room was slightly larger as well. The customer shouldn’t feel like they are a burden to the front desk because I refuse to put my kids on a sofa bed that was covered in a previous customers food. Good place to stay but check how clean the sofa bed is and surrounding areas before settling in for the night.
