Mercure Fribourg Centre Remparts

The hotel's location near the city's historic tower is very convenient. It's just a minute away from the bus station, which offers frequent services to the town. The complimentary parking space is a great perk, and the air conditioning in the rooms is especially valuable during hot days, especially given that many other hotels in the area do not provide this amenity. They only offer breakfast, and for the rest of the time, they have a bar which is open during the day. To have lunch and dinner, you need to go to the town, which is 10 minutes away.

This was a nice hotel directly in front of the old city Walls. The room was nice, and the bathroom was good. It would have been even better if we had been avle to make a cup og coffee or tea in the room.

Even though I don’t think it was intentional our check-in was a bit off putting. The air conditioning or fan didn’t work, quite stuffy so we had to leave windows open all night. Only one low pillow, found this uncomfortable even though bed comfortable. Carpets quite stained. Breakfast was 27CHF ($46 AUD each) felt this was very expensive. Pleased there was plenty of free parking. Easy walk into town centre.

L accueil est vraiment agréable les Suisses sont très chaleureux. Par contre l hôtel n est pas moderne et n'est pas comme devrait être un 4 étoiles. Le petit déjeuner est sans plus je trouve que par rapport à ceux de France cela manque de diversité. Je pense 1 nuit c'est suffisant.

Excellent service du personnel. Très tranquille. Bonne qualité du lit. Cependant, ça sentait les égouts dans ma chambre; on m'a donné une chambre adjacente qui sentait moins mais qui sentait tout de même. Je ne retournerai pas pour une autre raison: il n'y avait ni cafetière ni bouilloire dans la chambre (et pas de crème pour le corps aussi).

Reception asked if we wanted advice on where to eat, we declined but we only found one restaurant open as most places are closed on Mondays. Mercure has a bar but was closed. Mercure has a restaurant but was closed. The next morning we were asked if we enjoyed are stay and said yes but room was very hot. We were then told air-con will not be installed until end of 2023. Not impressed.
