Nice decor, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms with a nice touch of a coffee machine and hairdryer

Food was a little over priced for the quality of the produce

Lovely location! The pub was nice and in a lovely village. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was fabulous!

Sadly the bed was very uncomfortable. There was only one thin sheet over the mattress which was so thin the writing on the mattress was clearly visible. No mattress cover or anything at all. (See photo) I was given a room which connected to another and despite the door being locked, I could hear their entire conversation (and they were just talking normally) as if they were in my room with me. The church across the street chimed every hour, even through the night (but that’s entirely out of their control).

Requested an invoice 3 times and still nothing

We have stayed at The Bell numerous times. It is half way between our home in Devon and my mum in Co, Durham. The staff are welcoming. The room was spacious. The food and drink was enjoyable.

When we retired to bed around 11pm we had no hot water. The next morning we were leaving early to attend a funeral in the North East and there was still no hot water. So we couldn’t have a bath or shower. I mentioned this as we left and I also sent a message but have yet had no reply.
