Autumn Leaves Guest House

Easily found but suitable for smaller and shorter statured people - we are not overweight 60kgs and 100kgs but great difficulty showering barely able to fit in!

Simply too small for us and we are not fusspots

Property was cosy and clean. Very welcoming hosts and brilliant location.

Towels were a little small.

Lovely English breakfast with toast and marmalade. Freshly cooked

Floor mat to step on after shower. Maybe an alarm clock if phone on 'do not disturb 'then alarm doesn't go off.

Good location, friendly host, comfortable bed with good quality linen. Breakfast was available if I wanted it.

The shower leaked, nothing dramatic but probably needs to be looked at. Would like the bins to be emptied throughout my stay, but I probably should have asked - guesthouse is different to a hotel in that regard I think.

The guest house is in an amazing location! Very close to a bus stop that will get you all around the lake district, a 10 min walk from the train station, and just around the corner from the main busy street of the town. Windermere is a classic cute stone town of the area and on one of the lakes. The owners who run the guest house are both just lovely people! They offer a full English for 10£, which is a great price for the area. We were on the move both days, so we missed the breakfast, but it's worth taking it for those wondering about price. The room had windows that opened and kept the room plenty cool, even though we were there on warm, sunny days. We would definitely return.

It wasn't a problem for us, but for those with limited mobility, the guest house has stairs to the rooms. The stairs to room 5 & 6 are narrow, so if you have very large bags, try to book 1-4 if available. We had room 5 though and it was lovely.

Brilliant location just a short walk from Bowness pier, easy parking if travelling by car, if using public transport there is regular and easy transport links from this location to all parts of the lakes. Rob and Tanya are extremely fabulous hosts, they really pay attention to detail making sure you have everything you need throughout your stay. It's clear they love what they do and are very god at it, it was nice to have pleasant chats on all our days - helpful recommendations of places to eat and things to do. Breakfast was delicious, definitely sets you up for your day - thank you!
