Clean, very polite staff, nice location

despite “high speed internet” being listed as available on the website and all pages, the internet wasn’t available for our entire stay except for two hours. This is not a huge deal because it allowed us to explore, but if the service and internet matter to you bring a hot spot!

Pleasantly surprised by the location right outside the park entrance. Cabin was great.

Only one suggestion is a light is needed by the sink.

I booked the Gateway Inn for one night and ended up leaving almost immediately because I felt unsafe. After checking in, I discovered there was no working Wi-Fi despite it being advertised. When I returned to the front desk to ask about it, the owner became extremely angry. He started shouting, waving his arms aggressively, and at one point moved toward me in a confrontational manner while continuing to yell. I found the interaction intimidating and frightening. What should have been a simple question about an advertised amenity escalated into a hostile confrontation that made me uncomfortable staying at the property. I left and booked another hotel instead. I later contacted Booking.com, and the representative who called the motel on my behalf told me she also had a difficult interaction with the owner and described him as "a very angry man." Despite this, I was told there was little they could do regarding my experience. The missing Wi-Fi was frustrating, but the owner's behavior was the reason I chose not to stay.

We understood this is an older accomodation and can appreciate the character of a rustic roadside Inn, but the price did not feel justified by the quality of the stay. It feels like the place is very dated and limited effort has been made to improve, the room is full of small random furniture, the pillows don't have volume, the beds were dirty with dust balls and black hair in them. I say this as genuine feedback to the hotel, just a little more care and curation could significantly improve the accomodation. The wifi connection does not work at all or very rarely (difficult when trying to finalise your plans for your park visit). Although very friendly service, no one had any real enthusiasm for the park itself and were unable to provide any advice or engage in a conversation even around the well known highlights (eg Paradise - 30 mins up the road), I don't expect a concierge but a little interest or knowledge of the park would have been nice.

The location was excellent right outside the Nisqually Entrance. The staff was very nice and the cabin was rustic and comfortable. I especially liked the deck.
