"Machu Picchu visit"

8.0

I had a great time at the hotel. The people were nice. Wish there weren’t so many stairs. Other than that it was a great hotel. Good breakfast. Good room with a nice bed and pillows. Would reccomend this hotel.

"Family run hotel in great location"

8.0

It's a lovely family run hotel and they try to make sure you have a pleasant stay and help where they can. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and the shower was hot. Very good breakfast made fresh for each guest. Very good location close to the main square and market. Wonderful views and courtyard if you need somewhere to just chill and read a book.

"Horribly noisy "

6.0

Was put here as part of the package with G Adventures so I didn’t have much choice. They give you very basic hotels and those are usually noisy. The location here is nice, close to the main square and it has a beautiful courtyard with flowers and a nice garden. Overall it looks like a motel. My door didn’t lock properly, if you pushed it a bit hard you could open it so that meant I had to carry the most important things with me at all times. The shower was warm at 8pm, no problems there although the shower door was hard to slide and was probably broken. Wifi in the room was horrible, it would work on and off and was hard to use. I didn’t try the TV. The worst part was the nighttime dogs at first, which then stopped and then a bloody rooster screaming starting at around 3:30am. Everyone from my tour heard it. There are chickens and roosters all around the hotel so no matter where your room is, you’re gonna hear them early morning. It was hard to sleep. I can understand the tour company wants to save money by putting people in basic hotels but putting them jn places where it’s hard to sleep, it’s going a bot too far especially when you have long days.

"great experience"

10.0

as a tour leader when I came to this hotel with my groups they are well satisfied, clean rooms calm environment nice attention and fresh food at breakfast, strongly recommended, only two blocks away from the main square close enough but also away from noise so you can get a nice rest with great view of the mountains and some ruins.

"Rustic Hotel with amazing views. "

6.0

The views of the surrounding mountains are amazing and the hotel is in a really good location, only 5 minutes walk from the main square. The hotel rooms are nice, and the breakfast is good. I found the staff a little bit arrogant but it could just be the language barrier.

"Comfortable, superb location"

8.0

Stayed here with G-Adventures. Superb location – close to the town centre, and with great views of the Inca Storehouses from the windows. Lovely, fresh feel to the air. Room very clean. Beautiful peaceful garden, complete with hammock. Breakfast good, and we were asked if we wanted scrambled eggs – so nice and fresh, not lying for goodness knows how long! Ollantaytambo is a fascinating town - like walking in Inca times - and this hotel makes visiting it so easy!

"No water"

4.0

Room was spacious enough, bed very comfortable, very warm doonas. I was fortunate enough to have a room overlooking the mountain where ch was stunning. This however also brought negative of noise from the next door garage and animals. Tv did not work. No working wifi. Old rooms, could be cleaner. Bathroom was ok however there was zero and I mean zero water. Unacceptable and unhygienic. Not good. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The white rolls (again...) were fresh, however the cheese had seen better days, fruit was ok. That’s all there was and it wasn’t replenished.

"rooms ok everything else not"

4.0

80 dollars for no internet of cable in room is kinda ridiculous. Even motel 6 has better amenities. Hotel staff not a lot of help. Hotel area was kind of loud also. This was part of a tour so I didn't have a choice. Now the bad part is over. The good parts are clean rooms and a decent breakfast.

"Dated hotel with poor service"

4.0

Stayed for one night as part of G Adventures trip to Machu Picchu. On check in, we had one small bar of soap. My husband spoke in Spanish to front desk who refused to give us a bar for shower and also refused to let us pay for a bar. We got soap after our CEO intervened. Neutral comment: two dogs and a cat live here. Cute but questionable hygiene. Beds are dated and squeaky but ok. Whole room is dated and carpet quite dingy. Hot water: it took about two hours to get hot water. We were given excuse after excuse. Finally your operator intervened again. We were told that the tank needed refilled and to wait 15 minutes. No hot water. Told to wait another 10-15. Then we were told that they needed to change a battery. Some more time and loud noises later, we had intermittent hot water.
