Very friendly staff who I think tried their best. Nice location in lovely grounds.

It was expensive for what was offered. We booked it because we needed to be in the area on that date and other places were booked up and we thought we'd treat ourselves to a bit of luxury but this wasn't realised. It felt like we'd been allocated the cheap attic room. Our room was at the top of the house up the main stairs, then through a door to steep stairs to our room. We are old and managed to carry our bags up and down but it was a struggle. There wasn't warning or help with this. It was during a heatwave and hoping for a refreshing shower before bed we couldn't get the hot water in the shower to work. I asked next day and as the plumbing is old like the house, there is a particular method of doing this. This should have been explained when we first checked in, or a simple explanation posted in the room.

"Historic country hall set in Cheshire on the Sandstone Trail."

Historic country hall set in lush surroundings. Very quiet & could walk around the estate. Dinner and breakfast was superb with our choices followed accurately.

Breakfast not available till 8am & reception not available till 9am so hard to get an early start.

"A wonderful stay"

A jewel of a place to stay at! The quiet surroundings made it very peaceful and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The staff was very charming and welcoming, with a demonstrated loyalty to the property and history of the house. The breakfast was wonderful and easy to personalize. Will stay here again!

"Delicious afternoon tea"

A lovely Victorian Manor House in the beautiful Cheshire countryside with some stunning and beautiful views. The gardens are nice to walk around but are not extensive and have some interesting views and flowers. The afternoon tea was delicious and set in a beautiful room. The cakes were homemade and lovely and moist and dietary requirements catered for.
