Everything. It was beautiful. Stunning in decor, good food and the most amazing room I've ever stayed in. Very dog friendly too.

It was new years eve so the bar was very busy and there was limited room to sit. Despite this we found bar stools and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Everything was just fine, but didn't realise that every room is pet friendly, my husband allergic to dogs so he had an uncomfortable night due to the allergy

We stayed for one night just after Christmas in the Delamere room which was perfect. A beautifully decorated room just across the courtyard from the pub. We ate dinner at the pub in the evening which was beautiful. My husband had the venison and I had the salmon. Both absolutely delicious. Breakfast which was included the next morning was very generous and very yummy with all fresh fruit and pastries and a cooked breakfast of choice. We did the 3 mile walk before dinner on Saturday and the 2 mile walk after breakfast on Sunday. Both were lovely with wonderful views. We came in the summer and wanted to return at Christmas time and it will not be the last time we visit.

Room very nice, Breakfast dissapointing

Offered Cooked Breakfast with Toast . Toast didn’t arrive, asked staff for toast a little while later , other guests started arriving later for breakfast & got their cooked meal with their toast while we waited & waited for our toast, meanwhile out breakfast is getting colder , I asked again after 3 other guests where served breakfast and their toast while we still waited, meanwhile our breakfast was getting colder and we where told it’s on its way , when it did arrive eventually after every other guest after us had been seen to & my husband had finished his food having wanted his breakfast with toast and my breakfast at this point was Totally cold, no apologies just made to feel that our food had to go cold whilst other diners where dealt with before us , even though they arrived much later than us. Very disappointing, although getting toast isn’t a big deal in the scheme of things however we would have liked it with our warm food. Also we were told we had to sit at a 2 person table which was under a speaker playing loud Xmas music, we did ask any chance it could be slightly turned down as we were directly sat underneath it to be told No it can’t be turned down it’s either on or off , I’ve never heard before that you can’t turn music down !!, my husband questions now if that was why the toast was delayed because we had asked for music to be turned down so we could talk rather than be battling to converse over the music . On a slightly other note on arriving for breakfast we were told we had to sit at 2 person table yet when we left breakfast other 2 person couples were sat at 4 setting tables without music speakers above them.This was Christmas Day , I’m guessing staff were more occupied , however these little issues spoilt a bit our expectations of this place, we have here many times and maybe the staff were very very busy at this time and attentions were elsewhere .
