Zamorano Real Hotel

We stayed here for 1 night while visiting a friend in Loja. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. New excellent bathroom as well. All the staff very friendly and we liked the big buffet breakfast too. The only problem was that the access to the hotel was quite difficult due to major works changing the pipes in the road in the centre if Loja but of course this is not the hotel's fault and it will be great once finished. .

No room safes so we put most of our cash plus our passports in the reception safe. Got our laptop and $500 taken from our room in the a.m. while maid was cleaning. Manager and owner were not much help.

In a country of "good enough", this was a pleasant surprise. A clean, modern hotel with helpful staff. The hotel has its own parking which is a bonus (very tight). I would definitely choose this hotel again

The people are what make the difference here; the front desk ladies (Andrea and Nuri, in particular) are fantastic and go out of their way to be super helpful. Otherwise, it is what you would expect in a smaller city. The internet can be a little frustrating at times; the best reception is downstairs in the lobby/restaurant area. And it takes forever for the water to heat up in the shower -- seriously, turn it on and hit the snooze because it will be a bit of a wait. The location is terrific, very centrally located to the old town center.

After a shaky late Sunday night check in because of a language barrier and a misunderstanding the Zamorano Real was Really a wonderful treat! Clean, comfortable, great location, HOT shower, great staff.... super helpful people, nice breakfast. One small complaint....the room walls are thin....I can hear and smell the people in the next room.

We stayed two nights it is very clean and modern even by american standards would highly recomend,resturant is good but the service outstanding. It is a two dollar taxi from bus terminal and is quite and safe worth it to out of the busy areas and the noise

This is a very nice, clean hotel with attentive staff and a great locations. Breakfast is good. There were a couple of downside items though: The stopper was not working on the bathtub. We were able to get it fixed for our second night though. The tub is TINY. You cannot lean back and relax in it without fixtures poking you in the back. It took 10 minutes to get the water hot enough to bathe or shower. Our room;s only window was overlooking a stairway. There was no window on the floor. To see if it was raining you had to go to the lobby. It was pretty noisy there our first night. Not bad the second.

We stayed here an overnight and thankfully it was just one night, unfortunately is was Friday. First the pros: centrally located, safe,attentive front desk,very roomy and comfortable rooms, firm and wonderful beds, big bathroom with probably the best shower-head I've experienced in Ecuador, plenty and varied breakfast included with reservation. The cons were considerable and overwhelmed all the good points. The room was in the second floor and right on top of the breakfast room insulation is basically non-existent, you hear everything: phones and conversations from the front desk, cell phones ringing next door, people coming up the step, the elevator moving and especially the big, loud party downstairs on Friday night. Even with all windows sealed, it was like being in the ballroom with the band. The TV remote was not working, but we were not interested in TV, just in sleeping.
