Stanbrook Abbey

We chose Stanbrook Abbey as our wedding venue as soon as we saw it! The venue is a mix of tasteful, modern decor combined with the more traditional features that you’d expect from a former nunnery. We completely fell in love with the callow great hall, it’s simply stunning. Caylie and the rest of the team are superb. During the run up to our wedding, Caylie was always available by phone or email if we had any questions or queries, no matter how small or trivial. The team really helped to ensure that our wedding ran smoothly and without a hitch. During the menu tasting session, we were blown away by every aspect. The decor, the wine selection, the restaurant staff, and of course the food. We chose 3 of each course to taste, and to say we struggled to choose was an understatement! Each dish was freshly prepared and presented beautifully. The flavour combinations were amazing, we easily would’ve been happy with any of them! Our actual wedding day was just perfect! Again, the team were spot on. We were kept informed every step of the way and felt comfortable and confident that the day would run smoothly. All of our guests commented on what a beautiful wedding it was! Thankyou Stanbrook, you truly are a dream wedding venue and we are so pleased that we got to spend our special day there!

Thank you Stanbrook Abbey for our beautiful wedding day on 19 December 2024. From the moment we met Jodie in September 2023, we knew Stanbrook was the venue for us! It took our breath away that day and every time after when we visited. Not only is it an absolutely stunning venue, but the staff are incredible. A huge thanks goes to Jodie who supported us on the lead up to our big day and helped with my nerves on the morning of the day! And to Clyde who was fantastic on the day. I’ve honestly lost count of the amount of guests who have said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Everyone loved the food and felt like the staff couldn’t do enough! Totally perfect in every way, and the Christmas wedding I had always dreamed of!

Stayed one night. Booked a cosy room which was upgraded. Staff are polite, courteous and attentive. The room was nice with a large bathroom. Dined in the restaurant where the food was excellent. Courtesy call from reception after arrival gave me the opportunity to ask for milk which was missing from the tea tray which promptly arrived. Will definitely stay again

This was our first stay at Stanbrook Abbey and we were very impressed. We stayed in the Thompson room, a junior suite with lots of space. The food in the restaurant was excellent, with breakfast a particular highlight. Staff everywhere were great, efficient but friendly. Best of all, the hotel was very dog friendly, with several other dogs around and about and very friendly staff who made a fuss of our little man. We are hoping to go back in a few months.

WOW, what an experience. Stanbrook Abbey did not disappoint this time round. We visited a few month ago and although the stay was pleasant there were some issues we reported, so they offered us a free night stay with dinner. All I can say it that they really excelled themselves giving us the 5* treatment. The red carpet was definitely rolled out for us from the minute we arrived to leaving. The room was so big and luxurious, with a rolled top bath which we really enjoyed. Dinner was amazing and everything was just perfect! I have to say the staff are so lovely and friendly, they are truly what makes Stanbrook Abbey a must visit. Thank you to all that made our stay a most enjoyable one and most definitely a memorial one.

This stay was for one night visiting family, we had a very warm welcome and a nice surprise of a room upgrade, the Abbey is a hive of knuck and crannies every turn was bathed in history, our room was comfortable well equipped with complementary drinks and added bonus of air conditioning, in the evening we had a bar meals and drinks that were well cooked and presented, the morning we had the full English breakfast that was plentiful well presented, I can't finish without mentioning the staff only to say they are some of the best I have encountered in my trips away, always a smile and professional.

We visited for Afternoon Tea as a group of 8 for an 80th Birthday celebration. From the minute we arrived Staff were super friendly & attentive. The atmosphere was so lovely & the food was incredible . Beautiful surroundings. We couldn’t eat everything ( there was so much ! ) it was packaged in lovely boxes to take home. We will definitely be returning

We came here to attend a wedding. It was a excellent setting for the celebration. The staff were all helpful, courteous, and competent. The buildings were historic and very well maintained.
