Cabañas del Capitan

My first and my fiancé’s 10th. Beautiful accommodation centrally located on the beach. Well maintained by an excellent staff. Shopping, good restaurants and even a movie theatre close by. A great place to reconnect with other returning guests year after year. We are already booked for next year and hopefully many years to come. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽

Now into 3rd week of our planned 8 week stay. My third visit and my partner's sixth. We love the "bungalow" assigned to us...same as last year (7 weeks) with stairs to climb up and down every day which allows us a great view and some brisk cooling breezes. Like all bungalows, bedroom with ensuite bathroom can be locked but kitchen and sitting area is an open but fully covered with a roof. Kitchen has a double sink, 4 burner propane (LPG) stove, 2 door fridge/freezer, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, pots an pans, cutlery and some cooking utensils. Anything else you might need for a longer stay you should bring. For repeaters, they allow you to stow some personal possessions in plastic bins (you can purchase in local stores) and they will store them for you at no cost to you. It is less noisy than prior years because there is no new construction happening on these premises and other construction happening (lots) is far enough away as to be not noticeable for noise. Beach bands are just as noisy as in prior years. Seems to have been significant turnover of Cabannas staff but the new staff must be well trained as they are all still friendly and most try to be hospitable and helpful. Of course we are most happy to see the many people we have met and befriended here from prior years and to have the opportunity to enjoy more good times with them.

Very clean and comfortable rooms with all amenities, complimentary bottle of wine was a very nice touch. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Two pools or loungers on the beach. Top notch security, and grounds are meticulously kept. Located in the heart of Guayabitos, with great restaurants, and shopping. See you again soon LasCabanas!

We have been travelling in Mexico for many years and are aware of the, sometimes less than adequate safety issues, however, our most recent visit (just some refreshments) was in Dec. 2019. They were refitting the pool (no water in it), their "bar" was open-----no tape, no signs, no barricades------my wife fell back (no alcohol involved) into the pool. broken ribs, head contusions etc.--hospitalized. Not one call, attempt to make contact, apologies etc. The management are the most thoughtless, lawsuit fearing and generally uncaring we have ever encountered. Be careful if you stay there. Their committment to the clientelle is superficial to say the least.

We have watched this property develop over the last 20 years and it just keeps being the best! The property is beautiful, the accommodations more than satisfactory, the staff friendly and professional. Whether it is a quick get away or an all winter home Las Cabanas are charming.

We are booking for next year! Our stay exceeded our expectations! We love the two pools, lots of lounge chairs in sun and in shade, right on the beach, in what we consider the most convenient location on the strip. Had dinner at Teñeda which was terrific. Loved making our own breakfast, snacks and lunch in our own kitchen if we wanted to....looking forward to next year when we hope to bring our grandkids with us.

Under construction pool and restaurants. My wife’s expensive jacket turned up missing from luggage storage area next to front desk. Staff blamed it on my wife for leaving it there, they said it was a extra service to us for our luggage storage While we waited for check in time. After numerous attempts or visits to management and front desk, they told us nothing was turned in (lost n found). I told them it was stolen, not missed placed or lost. They again repeated the luggage storage policy and they weren’t responsible. The following day again after numerous attempts to question front staff, a miraculous thing happened. The jacket turned up, again after my wife went to them to ask, not staff contacting us!!!!!! We left angry that there is a thief working there and front desk staff blamed us. I gave a heads up to some people checking in as we left. They should have warned us of construction and no restaurants on ground in operation. I could go on but this should be enough to explain our disappointment!!!
