Lamplighter Motel

Very nice family ownership. Right on the lake. Close to some great lake spots.

Too many people sitting in front of all rooms smoking talking till all hours of the night.

We get to the hotel to notice what look like homeless people hanging out on the private dock. Every hotel guest we encountered looked strung out on drugs. We did not feel safe at all. The hotel has great rooms, the customer service was great. The only complaint I had other than the horrible, depressed area it is in was that our coffee service in our room had one packet of decafe and NOTHING else.. no real coffee, no cream, no sugar, no stir sticks... nothing.

Everything was fine, only stayed one night. It's in need of a little repair. The stairs to the 2nd floor had a little dry wrought. Beautiful view of the lake.

Extremely reasonable rate for a room that was above expectation. My 27 year old son called it a little Westin lol He said it was on the water and across the street from all kinds of fun places to eat. Very pleasantly surprised with everything. He was on a tight budget and decided to rent a room instead of camp. He couldn't have been more pleased

About 20 rooms in total. Modern renovation and centrally located on the main strip. Quiet property and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I checked in and there was trash in the rooms bin (headphones, nothing crazy but still). Also, when I grabbed a cloth to wash my face. I found it to be either stained w/dirt or not completely washed.

Don't let the outside or office fool you. The room is what was important! Perfect comfort.

Rude people but lovely view.

The Lamplighter is a old property, years ago one of the finest motels to stay, over looking Clearlake the bar and restaurant use to be one of the high spots. Time and lack of maintenance has taken it's toll. It might and probably not everyone's idea of a nice spot but for those of us travel on a budget and only use the room to sleep in, it fits the bill perfectly. The managers were the best, friendly and very helpful.

Was just there for a night. It was clean and seemed well kept. Good value for the price.
