Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia by IHG

Overall our visit here was okay. The hotel itself has a lot of character, 5 Stars for the bellhop! Didn't catch his name, but he was quick to greet us, grab our bags, and give our children an awesome welcome gift. Check in was okay however it felt a little cold and not overly welcome. Didn't ask what our plans were or if we needed any suggestions. Also, didn't mention any of the amenities of the hotel. The room itself was decorated beautifully, however there were obvious streaks on our mirror, the bath faucet leaked and the water temperature was all over the place. Also, drawers were obviously not checked by housekeeping because there were items from previous guests left behind. Valet service was quick although cold and unfriendly.

Our stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself is incredibly elegant, set within a majestic historic building that truly stands out. Every detail in the rooms is carefully curated, offering both comfort and style at the highest level. Its central location makes it the perfect base to explore the city, with everything just steps away. Dining at Red Owl Tavern was a highlight—absolutely exquisite food that exceeded expectations. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the impeccable service. The hotel staff delivered outstanding hospitality, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our entire stay.

Pet friendly, helpful staff, clean. Comfortable bedding.

The shower head was a bit dated.

The bell chimed every hour which made it difficult to sleep.

Staff, location and cleanliness

The Hotel Monaco is a gem. Great location for historical tourism. Hotel itself is extremely well run. Hard to remember better trained staff anywhere - completely missing "attitude". Reception desk is efficient and professional. Rooms are well maintained. Restaurant is well staffed, friendly and attentive.

I had such a fantastic time in Philadelphia because of the amazing team at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. Roshid, the Hotel Concierge, made sure that my stay at the hotel and my visit to Philadelphia to celebrate a milestone birthday was going to be memorable and wonderful. They made me feel so special with a welcome gift. I love the Kimpton hotels, and so do my pups, which is why I choose this hotel chain. I have been telling my family and friends about how wonderful my visit to the Hotel Monaco was for celebrating a special occasion. This is the second time I have stayed here with my pups, and they love it too. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The food at the Red Owl was also very good. The hotel location is also very convenient, within walking distance to Old City, Penns Landing, Rittenhouse Square, and the shops along Market Street.

It is close to all the historical sites

The cleaning staff is bad , my room wasn’t serviced regularly and I even had to go downstairs for toilet paper
