"Absolute perfection."

Its a fabolous place. The quietness close to the forest, the beauty and atmosphere inside including the large room, the artistic presentation of the food, the friendly staff. If you stay here you should definitely book dinner. It was an experience we never forget, me and my 8-year old son.

The breakfast was very japanese, as it should be, but perhaps some bread could be added.

The room is great! Spacious and sparkly clean. I love the public osen as well. Clean and has a big window facing the mountain. You can really relax here. Plus the dinner and breakfast were perfect as well. You can taste a lot of Kyoto traditional dishes.

Only downside is hard to commute by public transit. I took an uber which was not bad. Since you wanna go to the suburbs for views. And they have shuttles in the morning to take you to the nearby train station which is very thoughtful.

"A Comfortable Delicious Experience of Japanese Tradition"

This offers a Ryokan experience that is a mix of Japanese and Western tourists. It allows tattoos in the Onsen. It is out of town which has some benefits, like being next to the mountains and forest, and next to a couple key shrines. The food is amazing. The food alone is a reason to come here.

It is far from the station. The price feels high, but actually with the quality of the food and the quiet comfort, I think it was totally worth it. There could have been better green tea in the rooms.
