"Very Good"

7.0

I was worried with all the negative reviews, but actually it was very good. We went with our 2 and 4 year old. Good value for money. Very nice garden, we even saw a wild urangutan breaking and eating a coconut.

My daughter cut her toe in the kids pool, probably because of the top tiles/ broken tile when getting out. That made the pool unusable for us at all, even if it was one of the important reasons we chose the place. So bad because kids had so much fun before the accident. I read now in a review it happen before. Staff came to help with antiseptic and plasture, but they should definitely do something about that. As it happened before. We had two rooms, AC was working well only in 1, the other one not very strong, but manageable.

"Overall a good stay, but resort needs a big clean!"

7.0

I have such mixed feelings about this place. It is in a perfect location next to sanctuaries and is in the middle of the forest where you can see lots of wildlife, we watched otters and kingfishers catch fish while we were having breakfast which was awesome. Even though the place is a bit worn, I actually really liked the vintage vibe and character. The rooms are really spacious and the a/c works well. There is beer & wine available (expensive though)

We stayed here on 2 separate nights before and after our kinabatangan river cruise and the first night our room was actually kinda gross. The sheets on the bed were so stained and yucky we didn't sleep well because we were worried about bed bugs. The second room we got however the sheets were really clean and the room in general was cleaner. The pool is kinda dirty and the sun loungers have rusty nails sticking out of them. We saw a small child cut himself on a broken tile in the kids pool. The whole resort is kinda run down and feels half abandoned even though there are plenty of guests, it feels like the owners have given up which is such a shame because it could be really amazing with a few small changes and a bit of effort, but you get what you pay for I guess. The biggest thing that annoyed us is that they charge you for refilling water bottles! They should be encouraging guests to use refill instead of buying plastic. Shows very little care for the environment.

"Good location for a one night stay"

6.0

The location - in the heart of the jungle Near to the sanctuary /discovery centre Comfy bed with air con

The dogs running around, especially signs saying vicious The most disgusting toilets and rubbish by the pool Not particularly helpful staff - didn’t help us find our room (it was confusing)
