Sepilok Jungle Resort

This is a jungle resort and as such was what you expected. The rooms were a good size but l basic. The restaurant served good food. The location was perfect.

Most of the guests were older and the rooms were difficult to access with suitcases. There was no one there to help us or even offered to help. The pool was fantastic but really needed a good clean and obviously hadn't been cleaned for a long time. The restaurant staff were very nice, cheerful and happy unlike the reception staff who were unhelpful and surly. We suggest a no mobile policy for the staff especially around the pool area. Saying that if we come back to Sepilok we would stay there again.

Mooi resort tegen de Jungle aan gebouwd en zeer ruim opgezet. Ligt ong 20min rijden van Sandakan verwijderd, dus er zijn geen winkels/7-elevens om de hoek. Ziet er fantastisch uit met mooie ruime kamers evt inclusief airco en balkon te boeken. Via Grab is echter zo een taxi te regelen naar de stad. Ontbijt is zeer karig met weinig keus; veelal eieren met brood en wat fruit. Verwacht geen uitgebreid buffet. Eten in het Banana Cafe is oke, maar niet hoogstaand. Valt een beetje tegen als je de rest van Maleisie gewend bent. Op 5 minuten loopafstand de Orang Oetan en honing-beren opvangcentra. Deze zijn prijzig, druk bezocht maar leuk. Zwembad is geweldig in het park en maakt een hoop goed.

Voor de betaalde prijs viel ons het ontbijt en eten in het algemeen tegen.

The resort is within walking distance of both the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, which made visiting both attractions very convenient.

While I understand the resort is located in the jungle, that should not come at the expense of basic comfort and service quality. The lack of air conditioning made the room feel uncomfortable and gave the place a rather budget feel despite charging average prices. The staff did not come across as particularly welcoming. I don’t expect overly enthusiastic service, but they often seemed uninterested and as though they did not want to be there. While the restaurant was nice, their prices for basic necessities like water were exploitative! The water supply was inconsistent, with the shower cutting off midway at times. Water pressure was also poor, and there was no water heater available.

Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn sie etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Das war aber auch keine Überraschung, da es genau so auch auf den Bildern aussah und dargestellt wurde. Die Anlage ist mitten im Dschungel mit zwei Teichen, vielen Pflanzen und mit Glück sieht man sogar Affen und Vögel. Man läuft über kleine Brücken zu den Zimmern und zum Restaurant. Wirklich sehr idyllisch und ruhig. Perfekte Lage für Orang-Utan und Sunbear Center

Es hätte etwas sauberer und das Personal engagierter sein können.
