The location is good

The staff were not that friendly. The owners were a constant presence overseeing the staff. Room was basic but served its purpose. Pool was dirty. Expensive room for what we got. Next time I would stay in a nice hotel in Sandakan and travel there daily.

"I’ve had better stays in Borneo"

5.0

The property has great potential with the water features and the walks

Staff weren’t as friendly as the rest of Borneo. I wasn’t really explained where my room was so I was wondering around for a while with my luggage. My room was next to a construction site. The bed was very old and uncomfortable

"Absolutely NOT worth the price"

3.0

we liked the location - and honestly - for this price - NOTHING ELSE

This is one of the most over-priced accommodations I encountered in 20 years of extensive travel Asia. Basically a funky cheaply built and maintained third rate hotel .....priced as first class. Service was way bellow-par from the sleepy (don’t bother me too much while my face is glues to the smartphone) receptionist, to the restaurant crew. We agreed, naively, to pay for two nights about US$160.that was a mistake. Instead, allow me to advise, one can get a 4 star hotel in the city ( 18 km away) and smartly invest in an air-conditioned taxi ride for US$7 to Sapilok sanctuary. The "DELUXE TWIN ROOM' saw it’s last sad remodeling and improvement job sometime in the early 1980’s, at best. Holes in the clean sheets and decor that could have span a dead architect in his grave 3 times. We are still looking for the promised "mosquito net" (maybe the mosquitos eat it? ) and the promised and lovely "Socket near the bed” the was finally found on the other side of the room after extensive search.

"Great place, would be happy to stay again."

9.0

We stayed for just the one night. The resort is in a beautiful jungle setting. Some of the rooms are quite a distance from Reception/restaurant, and the many steps up and down the board walk may present problems for those with mobility problems, but they do provide a lovely stroll to your room, and give you a chance to watch the monkeys playing beside the lagoon. Room was large, clean and no-frills, with a private balcony. Easy walking to the Orangutan Sanctuary, Sun Bears and RDC. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely, wish we'd had longer to relax there.

The only thing I can think of would be a bit more variety for breakfast. And if I remember rightly there was no juice for those that don't drink tea or coffee.

"Guter Ausgangspunkt für das Oran-Utan Center oder andere Dschungel-Abenteuer"

7.0
