GeoPark Hotel

The receptionists are friendly and helpful. However, there are stains on pillow cases. Location is not ideal as it is far away from town. It is very quiet and dark at night and thus it is not really safe if travelling alone.

Great hotel, but found dinner options lacking, had to walk a long way

The hotel is the only one in the oriental village of Langkawi, where the cable car and the tigers and elephants are. If you come to Langkawi for leisure, you're bound to come to the village at one point of another and you'll love it. The hotel in itself is ok. It's not luxury, but it's clean and if you don't plan on being in the room all day, it will serve it's purpose very well. Staff are very helpful. Most attractions are in the village, but you'll need a taxi to get to the beach.

do NOT stay here unless you have a rental car, it's to far out from everything. the Hotel rooms are very basic & very cheap, location is at the cable car BUT it wasn't working due to a Religoius event NOT Happy. I felt unsafe as it's in a remote area, no security.

Geopark hotel is very close to the Langkawi Cable car, Seven Hills and the Pantai Kok beach which is a public beach with. The rooms are clean, the hotel staff friendly and helping in nature. The rooms have a view of the lush green mountains and we really felt in the lap of nature during our stay of two days there. The only concern would be that the hotel is quite far from the airport and the Pantai Kok beach where all the water sports, night clubs and eateries are. Renting a bike or a car are a must if you were to stay at this hotel and tour the island. This is located at the west most point of the island, wheras Pantai Kok beach and Eagle square are towards the center and the east respectively. A trip to the airport should take around 30 minutes, and Eagle Square should take you around 60 minutes. There are pricey restraurants in the vicinity at the Geopark Oritental Village and Padrina Quay.

The hotel itself doesn't have much wow-factor. Basic rooms, basic amenities, staff just average. BUT two things make this hotel well worth staying in: it's location is near to some of the best sights in Langkawi (cable car, Telaga Tujoh, Air Hangat hot springs, black sand beach) and it's in the less touristy, less crowded side of the island. So enjoyable, so convenient, and for just a few bucks extra, the breakfast was worth it, just out of convenience sake for us, especially with being there during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Considering cheapness of the price, the facilities were relatively OK for us to just stay and sleep safely and comfortably. Staff at the lobby are appropriately kind and friendly, but the hotel itself was very old and somehow not up-to-date. you may also find sometimes the cleanliness is not so good, even after the room clean-up. One big problem was we couldn't have internet access in the room as the wi-fi power was so weak that our mobile and laptop couldn't grab the wi-fi in inside our room which was at the end of the hallway. At the lobby, there is no problem accessing the internet.

Good for price, nice location away from main beaches. Clean hotel. Basic but nice breakfast.
