Hotel Elisa

We got a budget room which was cheap with shared facilities. The reception staff needs more training in meet and greet. I did not feel welcomed by any of the reception staff. They stared like I was covered in moles. I took a printout of my booking and the reception staff kept it. I said it was my copy and was told that I was to supply them with a copy. Asked about car rentals and other info but they had no idea. The porters were excellent. Loved having the door opened for us. The other guests were so noisey it woke us normally around 12am to 2am. Mentioned it to the reception staff but they took no notice like not their problem. Wanted to swim in the pool one day at 7pm and the door was locked. Couldnt go swim. Wanted to have dinner at the restraunt, got told they open at 4.30pm but not to expect it to open until about 5.30pm because staff hadnt arrived to work yet. We stayed for 10 days and the sheets were changed once. We got given it to do it ourselves. Absolutely no cutleries to use. No stove to cook food. Very very basic. Be careful sitting on one of the toilets because it sways with you. Location good but I will never stay here ever again unless changes are made.

The hotel's location is in the centre of Apia and thus walking distance of most 'city' places of interest. The service is mixed: most at the desk are not particularly friendly and that is a change compared to other places on the island and Savai'i. The male and cleaning staff however are very friendly, so the desk needs some training in customer service. The hotel has a nice pool and budget accomodation is good if you can get the inner rooms facing the pool. Amanaki hotel next door provides excellent breakfast and dinner options for a good price, and when you have dinner on Friday they give you a beautiful seafood entree for free with great service, and there is happy hour that day too :-).

Hotel was nice but rooms showers and toilet need attention . ( paint and tiles)

When I checked in the person who served me was not very welcoming. She also seemed uncertain if I had a booking even though I had a copy of the email with me confirming that I had booked and had already paid for the room.

For the price, I thought the budget rooms were great. Clean enough and really quite spacious. Fan worked. Access to shared bathrooms with hot shower, shared kitchen with a new fridge, microwave and kettle ( bit dodgy - the handle heated up too) and a good sized shared lounge. The swimming pool was also good. I didn't appreciate it until we moved to another place which had none of the above facilities and cost more. The location was really handy too - right near the markets, bus station and a short walk to the supermarket. It was great as a low budget option- no complaints at all. The restaurant food was expensive however and the restaurant was generally empty. We ate at the place next door. That would be my only criticism and I would suggest to them that they provide cheaper meal options. Otherwise, 10 out of 10 for low budget accommodation
