HOTEL LiVEMAX Chofu-Ekimae

The hotel is very basic, but a decent value. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were efficient and generally clean. They are small but are fine for one person, with a microwave, hotpot, refrigerator and free wifi. I could only get a smoking room due to availability, but it wasn't a problem. The window opens, which is nice for fresh air, but bring ear plugs if you want to open it because the adjacent building is a Pachinko parlor. (The parlor closes at 11:30pm.) There is no noise with the window closed. The hotel is a short block from the train station and since Chofu is a Rapid train stop you can get to Shinjuku with only two intermediate stops. Try the Hotel Chofu for a great Yakitori dinner. It is about three blocks from the hotel.

Budget hotel but acceptable value and friendly helpfull staff. Small rooms by western standards. I could touch the floor, ceiling and walls at the same time. No problems with noise. A bit run down and cleanliness was just OK in the room but very good in the bathroom. Modern Japanese toilet. Have fun figuring it out. 2 minute walk to the Chofu train station and a 20 min train to Shinjuku. 20 minute walk to the Jindai botanical gardens. Good local restaurants if you look for them. Try Hotel Chofu.
