Talana Hotel

Clean, basic hotel. No toiletries in room. Good breakfast. Owner unfriendly. On arrival there was no evidence of our booking, which had been fully paid for through Expedia. We eventually were given a basic room, with no explanation or apology given,

A nice little hotel if you are on a small budget. A little concerned when we first booked in as the receptionist could not speak or understand English. At first it was difficult to communicate however, we got booked in without any major issues taking this into account. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a little dated but OK for a budget hotel. The rooms and hotel in general was comfortable and very clean (spotless). The hotel is on a main road so a little noisy due to traffic which could create a problem if you are a light sleeper. The staff were generally friendly and the breakfast was fantastic (large continental and English hot buffet with everything you would want). A basic but very clean little hotel which fits the bill if you are on a budget. The breakfast is highly recommended if you like your food.

Comfortable and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the bar in the evenings and had no complaints regarding the food. Our room was at the back facing countryside, I miss hearing the geese at night. Would definitely stay here again

Staff in all areas of the hotel were polite , friendly and welcoming. A good selection for breakfast and supplies were replenished promptly. Evening meals were varied, always freshly cooked and good sized portions . Delicious! Any special requests at mealtimes were accepted and sorted . Everywhere is spotlessly clean The hotel is in a good location and near to St Helier - just 20 minutes walk away

Nice friendly place to stay. Ideal for shops but not to close.

Entering the hotel was a return to the faded days of the 1970's. Dated and uninspiring decor, although kept clean. Breakfast with limited selection with no fresh fruit, youghourts or croissants. Bedroom was a reasonable size but very old fashioned. Bathroom facilities were antiquated and did not work properly. In our first room, the shower control broke off and the clearly it had not worked for a long time. We managed to change rooms and the shower worked after a fashion. The net curtain was torn and had been sewn up in places. Regrettably the whole layout of the hotel was a rabbit warren, with numerous flights of steps, no lift and no assistance offered with cases.

I can only give this hotel 5 stars... cannot say a bad word at all... Mix up at first due to expedia saying to hotel i booked a twin when i booked a double. Conflicting booking, neither hotels fault or mine. It was no problem though as manager made up a double straight away and gave us a complementry drink for the trouble! Went out of their way too and gave us champane as we was celebrating a 50th birthday. Room excellent and clean. Comfy beds too.. hotel is like a tardis so plenty of stairs but we stayed on first floor so no problem. Breakfast is one of the best ive had. French staff but speak good english and very polite and helpful. They even have a sence of humour! Pool nice but its not heated but its no bother. Nice bar area, room service etc so what more could you ask for! Only down side is parking can be an issue. Its free but very small for a big hotel. But being honest its such a nice place and staff are great you dont mind moving your car when asked.. i will be going back again no doubt!

As soon as we got to the talana thy could not have been more helpful, the staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel its self was clean and tidy,and you could not fault the meals in fact it was the best breakfast I have had ,I could not fault anything and would certainly would go back again.
