MYUSThis is a legacy onsen hotel with views of both Lake Kawaguchi & Mount Fuji. We opted for the in-room furo & mountain view. Mt. Fuji was not visible during our stay but with an open window, the bath became like a roten-buro. The room had both a tatami sitting area, as well as western style beds. Perhaps, the design was a bit dated, but the feeling was charming. Check-in included a staff member fully explaining the room & amenities, which included complimentary snacks & beverages in the lobby from mid-afternoon. The buffet at breakfast & dinner were typical of an onsen hotel. The offerings were delicious & locally sourced. Funatsu is a small town but the hotel shuttle was convenient for pickup/drop off at the train station. The visitor bus stop in front of the hotel was useful with a hop on/off daypass to access attractions at Kawaguchi & beyond.
The train/bus station was way too small to accommodate the crowds even in non-season. The tourist bus was often standing room only until farther away from the town. Visitors need to think about timing trips to off-season. Fuji Lake Hotel itself was great, no downside.
RUUSGreat location. Right on the water, steps away from boat rental. Nice bakery across the street, excellent views of Mt Fuji. Perfect location with pretty grounds.
Western beds a little hard and room was outdated but overall good stay.
MMBreakfast and dinner is very good. Staffs are warmly. Good Mt. Fuji view. Welcome snacks are good.
