Lovely main house, beautifully tastefully furnished with a wrap-around veranda where a lovely breakfast was served

Steep path up to our room in a separate building with a rather small ensuite shower-room. Water restrictions a pain though applicable to all accommodation locally die to drought conditions.

1) eating a good breakfast on the veranda 2) reading a book in the lounge 3) relaxing in the chair outside our unit 4) had it been sunny I would have enjoyed yhe pool 5) we ate at an excellent french restaurant near the lodge

1) the bedroom was fairly small and a bit dark 2) nothing worth watching on the TV

Lovely house and gardens, room was well appointed and very clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful - booked dinner for us at the restaurant across the road. Nice pool in the garden. Lovely breakfast outside on the terrace. Staff all pleasant and professional Would recommend highly for anyone wishing to stay in Swellendam

The pull system for the manual fan and light FAR too high for short “elderly “ people… then the door lock was often very tricky.
