I loved the gardens and trees, so beautiful. Also loved the walk from the gardens to the beach just 5 minutes away. Plus being dog friendly was a big plus as we could take our cockerpoo! I also liked the views across the gardens to the sea from the dining room. The bedroom was spacious.

The bathroom was small and dated and the shower was a fiddle to get the temperature right.

All hotel staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful Good size bedroom and bathroom The extensive private garden was very well laid out. We enjoyed walking through the garden every morning and once through the gate at the far end, it was just a 2 -minute walk to the seafront. The dining room/breakfast room had a very pleasant aspect overlooking the attractive garden. As we had forgotten our swimming attire, we were not able to take advantage of the hotel swimming pool, but we both appreciated that the facilty was available to us.

Our oom was located next to one of the staircases, and we were often disturbed by the sound of other hotel guests going up and down the stairs. to make it worse, the floorboards creaked badly, and this exacerbated the disturbance. Fortunately, many of the guests were older, so there was little mpvement in the hotel corridor after 10:30. In the bathroom, the shower screen was far too small, causing 'splashover' when taking a shower. After we had both had our shower, there was a pool of water on the bathroom floor. No mixer tap in the bathroom basin. There were reading lamps attached to the headboard of the bed, but they could not be controlled individually; they were either both switched on or both switched off. to make it worse, the lamps could not be controlled from the bed. It was necessary to get out of bed to switch them off. We felt that this was a terrible and very irritating design flaw. The small hotel bar had only a limitd selection of wines and spirits. we like to teat ourselves to a liquer in the late eveing, but none of our choices were available.

The garden, terrace and views are beautiful. The staff were friendly and efficient and there was a lovely walk to the seafront. Very relaxing hotel.

The windows didn't open very far and as we had a view o er the car park, we would have appreciated net curtains.

Location convenient. Pet friendly. Clean but very basic. Breakfast O.K. but very slow refilling hot dishes.

Our room very hot unable to leave windows open due to location. Stayed 2 years ago and were allocated a far superior room, very disappointed.
