Hotel Ionian Theoxenia

This hotel is located in the outskirts of a little town but only steps away from the beach. If you just want to relax and enjoy just lounging around, this place is for you. We only stayed a night but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was one of the biggest rooms we’ve had during our 3 week tour of Europe. Very comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.

I went here in September during covid virus. About the hotel: hotel is ok but certainly not a 4 stars hotel. Breakfast was very bad, very less choice and had not expected this since lots of people loved the breakfast here. Additionally, cappuccino or other coffees are not included. At the end during checkout we had to pay for the drinks which came as a surprise. I never heard of a hotel where the coffee is not included in the breakfast (we booked including breakfast). About environment: without a car (unless booking every day a taxi) its impossible to go to other places. The hotel is in a small village which only has restaurants or a few “ok” beaches. If you want to go to other cities like Preveza (20-25km) or Parga (50-60km) its really nice to have a car. Overall i would say with a car to visit this place is ok. The hotel is also ok but not a 4 stars hotel. If breakfast is important for you would not recommend to go here. They have a swimming pool and tennis field which are nice. In case of rental: you can at the airport rent cars but recommend to book beforehand. We had booked through autounion. They pick you up at the exit doors (2min drive to car rental itself) and bring you to the car rental where you can pick up your car. Book online for every option as they have higher prices if you want to book there. Eg tire insurance was online €5 per day, at car rental it was €10 per day.

Property was nice and clean and breakfast was good. Beach was not the greatest. Nice water but beach sand had lots of debris flying around. Staff was good at hotel.

Nice quiet location. Good for getting away from it all. Staff wonderful and very helpful.

We ooked for 2 adults 2 teenagers. Paid for it and we received 1 double bed and 2 small singles for young kids. The soaps were half full, the rooms and property were full of ants. This is not cool. One the firdt day there we found 3 vlue pillsnon the night stand. Not ours so they came abd got them.

Nothing special and actually poor service compared to the price. The water in the pool was very warm. Personnel was ok but not very professional. We asked at the reception if we could pay to reserve a beach umbrella and 2 sun beds for a visiting family and they told us that unfortunately they were all booked. During the whole day 4 sets were not used at all. My friend found a roach in the closet. Overall lame attitude. Breakfast was good .

We really would like to recommend this lovely hotel! It is a quiet, very nice kept hotel with good location in Kanali. Our apartment was big and clean and with a lovely oceanview from the balcony. It was close to the beach and the hotel had own beachbeds which you could use for free. The pool was big and there were allways availiable poolbeds to use. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. The greek yogurt was heaven! The hotelstaff were very friendly and helpfull, and you felt well taken care of at all times. We had the best calm and relaxing holiday you could ask for and we really want to go back.

This is a beautiful clean new hotel with helpful staff .just what we needed for one night before we flew home to England after a week on a sailing boat !! Lovely spacious room . Disappointingly the water power was very low very pathetic shower for a modern hotel it let the glamour of the room down. Also the metal steps into the pool were loose , wobbly and on one the tile was cracked all around the fixing,it felt very precarious This certainly needs repairing with all the children there for safety .we were also surprised there was nothing around there apart from bars 6 bars on the seafront , two restaurants with very basic limited menus Maybe it's an up and coming area But still a very pleasant recharge for us

Loved the private retreat! It was away from the town of Preveza by 30minutes public bus. Very small community and 100 yards to the beach. Lovely staff!!
