"It was an lovely break away from work and be able to relax for awhile."

9.0

The hotel was lovely place with high ceilings in some rooms .The breakfast was very good and good value for money but you do need to book it advance before you go or when you get. which is what we did. The hotel is good walking distance to the town centre of Sandown and good walking to the local train station to Ryde or Shanklin.

NOTHING ,there was nothing I didn't like about the hotel .

"Poor service, poor quality accommodation in good location"

3.0

The location was great. For children who are dinosaur lovers you are within walking distance. Also a large climbing park and children's mini gulf. Pier was lovely. Sandy beach and various good restaurants and shops. Down breez and sea breez base stops are just two minutes away.

1. The receptionist was abrupt and seemed unhappy to see us, which felt far from welcoming. When I realised our room was on the ground floor, with a window opening directly onto the main street where cars are parked, I asked if it was possible to move upstairs. As it was a hot evening, I did not feel comfortable leaving the window open at street level. The response was simply “we are full,” which I accepted as fair enough. 2. In the ground floor room, the water pressure was extremely low — a basic failure for any room. After a long journey, it took us a considerable amount of time to wash our hair. I was told there was a general issue with water pressure across the island, which I initially accepted. However, when we moved to a top floor room, the water pressure was perfectly fine, suggesting the issue was specific to the ground floor. 3. After a lengthy shower, the glass shelf under the bathroom mirror slid down and struck my child’s foot, leaving a bruise. It had not been secured properly, and when I tried to reattach it, I realised there was no clip to hold it in place. Both myself and my young children were shocked by the incident. I logged the matter the next morning after seeing the bruise. The receptionist I spoke with then was very kind and supportive. However, when I later emailed the manager to raise a formal complaint, I was shocked to be accused of fabricating the incident. I took photographs the following day, and we were fortunate that the shelf had not shattered on my child’s foot. 4. Breakfast consisted of very low-quality items — the cheapest possible bacon and sausage, and notably no mushrooms. 5. The mattress in the ground floor room was extremely rough, with protruding springs, making it very uncomfortable. The top floor room, however, had a far better bed. If absolutely necessary, the top floor rooms might be tolerable for a couple of nights, but overall, this felt closer to a two-star standard.
